Hey it's me again the GENE MACHINE dude. Of course I've played Jack Orlando. I even BOUGHT it when it just came out and I even beat it and enjoyed it A LOT!
The thing is: The ENGLISH version is a horrible nightmare. The German version has GREAT voice acting with popular voice actors while the English version is an embarassing and akward piece of shit which means its just not playable. I've got the Jack Orlando version from STEAM and GOG but both seem to only feature the ENGLISH audiotrack - awful. I can not figure out how to change the language to German. Having an English OS probably does not help / game might detect the language of my OS. I still have the original CDs - mono and stereo version but I am not able to get it to run with DosBox or DFender Reloaded. I've already tried to copy the audio files from the original version into the folder of the Directors Cut. This would work to SOME extent but quickly crashed the game.

Hi there!
You seem to have made a bit of a mistake in your post. Luckily, the users of 4chan are always willing to help you clear this problem right up! You appear to have used a tripcode when posting, but your identity has nothing at all to do with the conversation! Whoops! You should always remember to stop using your tripcode when the thread it was used for is gone, unless another one is started! Posting with a tripcode when it isn't necessary is poor form. You should always try to post anonymously, unless your identity is absolutely vital to the post that you're making!
Now, there's no need to thank me - I'm just doing my bit to help you get used to the anonymous image-board culture!

An early attempt at a some what open FPS, it had a lot of good ideas. Interactive objects beyond glorified switches. Roaming NPCs. A cybernet that you could hack into. But the game felt like exactly that, a bunch of ideas, and none of them really melded together, and William Shatner's lame story with every near future sci-fi cliche didn't really make any sense or work to hold the game together either. There was potential in this game, but it never quite got there.

TekWar was in just about every $8 bargain bin in existence when it hit the market and probably one of the best games Crapstone ever made (shame Fate never finished). It was actually the first BUILD engine game on the market before DN3D made it famous. Actually, with a bit more digging on wikipedia, I found out that there was a Build engine game that was made before any of those games in 1994 called Legend of The Seven Paladins. It was made in 7 days and only released on a private network of some sort. I'm assuming it was made just to demonstrate the engine though. Supposedly it's floating around online but I'm too lazy to look for it right now.

Also, it is kind of a mystery how Capstone did get their hand on it. I can't really find anything that would shed light onto it.

Getting a straight answer on Legend of the Seven Paladins seems next to impossible.

From what I've been able to gather at these two links:
http://www.jonof.id.au/build.games/l7p
http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/korea/part2/company-twim.htm
The game was completed and hit the asian market despite not having an engine license, not that it would matter there. The video shows the engine was retail ready at the time.

Capstone itself is a mystery considering they managed to spend over a decade kicking out kusoge and managing to snag publishing rights to interesting stuff like Chronomaster.

It was hard as fuck, I got lost as a kid because I never made a map (something I learned to do from my father. Remember when you NEEDED to make a map to get anywhere in the game?)

So after a year or two of on/off searching I found this fucker and beat it. Wasn't hard after collecting a few items but it scared a lot of people off just because the key layout isn't mapped and some of the wizards are glitched.

If only it was not so painfully expensive. Thankfully a bro bought me a complete copy of OG 1.

Never even seen the cover, and I've spent quite some time researching game boy games.

Tabaluga is probably a europe (germany) only thing, it's a neat little adventure-rpg though, I remember watching my brother play it.

I wish Doozy Bots actually happened so we could have grown up with SD Gundam merchandise and tie in games.

There were two other flippers you could buy. Strong flippers, which are simply stronger (do more damage to bosses/enemies) and Devil Flippers. Devil Flippers would do WAY more damage to enemies, but every now and then would randomly not work when you pressed the button.

The best thing to buy honestly, was the permanent stoppers, which put bumpers on the left and right side of the field.

On another note, anyone ever play this gem?

Yes
It's wholly original, but not too exciting

For some reason I'm not nearly as good at this game now as I was as a kid.

Well what is it? Real time strategy? RPG? Fighter? Brawler? Monster creation with min-maxing? And most importantly is it good?

Wasn't this game the main inspiration for Kung Fu Panda?

It's not a whole lot if you just play a bit of each one. Completing all of them is something entirely different.

Please tell me someone else played this? I've never met anyone who has played this outside of my brother and me.

Never beat it, but played it a ton growing up. Pretty challenging platformer.

I got this for Christmas it's release year. Remember liking it in the day---but I was young and probably a moron.

I'm surprised Sony allowed a Nintendo Magazine quote on the box of a PSX game---I bet the assumed it would read like a surrender by Nintendo.

That N64 port was never released, right? Is it floating around the web now?
