It may be unpopular but it is correct.

Vanilla is the best selling ice cream flavor, but that doesn't make someone wrong for preferring chocolate.

It's unpopular in the sense that not a lot of people would agree, but it's not like people would thing it's some shitty bait opinion. Both series were very well done; while I prefer Mario Bros myself, I don't find it that absurd that someone would prefer Warioland.

Mario is all about platforming, while Wario is about collecting and exploration.

i played VB warioland on a real VB back in the day and it was fuggin sweet. now i just have it on emulators. never played the game boy ones

I don't think there's ever been a controversy over whether one series is better than the other, so I think it would require some serious butthurt to care whether or not someone prefers Wario over Mario.

In general, I think the Wario games are far more creative, innovative, and exciting than Mario games, but Mario still has better game (pic related). Mario generally feels pretty simple, with a few very basic moves. Wario has a bit more going on and feels very visceral to control. Mario in DK '94, however, has one of the most varied and fun control schemes in any platformer I've ever played.

So, yeah, if you just want to run and jump and have more fun having your reflexes tested, then Mario's the game for you. If you want to think a bit more and have more complex ways of approaching and defeating enemies, then it's all about Wario.

To me, Mario feels like Nintendo, Wario feels like Sega.

Tough choice between SMB3/SMW, and WL1 /VBWL

I think with Mario I'd go with World.

For Wario I think VBWL is a much tighter experience (maybe the best Wario game in general), but I like the bigger scope of WL1 with world map and everything. VBWL is shorter but there's more goodness condensed. It's really hard deciding between the two.

I enjoy both very much. I wish they had pushed the Wario series as in depth as they had for the Mario series, but, it seems to have done very well for Nintendo to only use Wario as an after thought. Oh well.

I beat it and while I appreciate it for being one of the harder Nintendo platformers I've played, I still prefer the puzzle-oriented style of 2 and 3 more.

I prefer Mario games, but prefer Wario IMMENSELY as a character. I like comically self-centered protagonists more than blank slate good guys like Mario.

I've never played a Wariogame.

Wario Land 3 and 4 were great
I think i like Wario Land 4 better as for handheld games
its not like he had that many games, mario had dozens of them !

Wario Land 2 is fucking huge. So many stages and there's tons of treasure to find. Getting 100% in that game is hell.

I recently played through Wario Land 1 again and that game hasn't aged well at all. Not a bad game but there's really no reason to visit it again once you've finished it.

Do people prefer pressing B to dash in the direction you're facing like in WL, or holding down B to tense Wario and then press a direction to move like in VBWL?

Honestly i played every wario land games and i don't understand why people love wl3. You don't even have all your abilities at the start. Wl2 is bland and boring. Wl1 is an inferior version of six golden coin.

Only wario land 4 is good imo.
