His own moves are all defensive and the only one that does damage is the one that's actually abstract in the game's graphics because it's supposed to be a PSI power based on the player's favorite thing.
It makes sense he used Paula's because they're easier to make into actual offensive moves in-game (fire, ice, electricity). I believe on the character profile of Ness in either 64 or Melee it says Paula taught the moves to Ness for Smash or something like that.

She's pretty decent, I believe a solo puff main made top 5 at smashcon. Ness is weird, ranked 5 in Japan but 9 in the US, guess it depends on who you ask.

Also for the "tires don exit" people here tiers are very relevant to smash, if you don't play competitively and just want fun thats cool, just don't expect to get far at a 64 tourney using link or dk.

That's not the spirit of the game. Yes, fox has a high skill cap, but a good player can play whoever.

Zelda is thriving on re-releases, with only vague rumors and limited footage about their next console title. Triforce heroes, whilst it looks fun, is a tideover gimmick, like Hyrule Warriors. A Link Between Worlds was basically a failure at a nostalgia cash in, and proof of why "do it in your own order" generally doesn't work, unless the game is able to dynamically adjust itself.

Starfox hasn't seen a good release in a while. Adventures was meh, Assault was a let down, Command was a fucking joke, we've got hints of a new game, but they'll likely fuck that up too. The best Starfox release since 64 was literally Starfox 64 3D.

Metroid is getting cucked pretty hard. Other M was basically an insult to Metroid fans everywhere, and the new Galactic Federations spin-off is, as Nintendo themselves states, "not what fans wanted". Whether it will be shit or not remains to be seen, but hopes aren't high.

Jigglypuff was known for one fucking thing, and that was showing up in the anime, singing, then getting pissed off that people passed out and exacting revenge by drawing on their faces. It was basically a forced meme. Pikachu was basically the face of the anime.

The real story is that Smash was gonna be its own original IP (Dragon fighter or something) and Cap's moveset is a holdover from that. This is why it's so weirdly iconic while being totally unrelated to racing- it was gonna be an original character.
