The store is on fire, and there's no cashier at the register
And the aisles are all muddied with a thousand lonely megadrives
And a dark wind blows

The companies are corrupt
And we're playing so many games
With the tv on and the curtains drawn

We're trapped in the belly of this horrible machine

And the commercials are all leering
And the macots are all dead at the top of their systems

The companies tumbled in on themselves
Nintendo clutching Mario cartridges
Picked through the rubble
And pulled out their backstories

The storefront was beautiful on fire
All twisted Genesis games stretching upwards
Everything washed in a thin blue haze

I said, "Kiss me, you're beautiful -
This is my only chance to get laid"

I wrote a book,
And fell into it
Like a daydream
Or a fever
