I am planning to pick out a reproduction game of a Japan-only Super Nintendo game. Which of these should I get?

- Bahamut Lagoon (this is the one I am leaning towards. If I love Fire Emblem and Shining Force, will I love this? It looks beautiful).
- Terranigma (I heard this is critically acclaimed, but I already got Seiken Denestu 3)
- BS Legend of Zelda Maps 1 & 2 (the original Zelda was okay, I know this is a remake, but does it really had much to the original?)
- Fire Emblem Mystery of the Emblem (I heard this game is among the most dated FE's though I could be wrong).

I am curious to hear what /vr/ has to say.

Bahamut Lagoon has a bullshit stat raising system and a nasty story related surprise...

I'd go with Terranigma but I'm very confused as to why it would matter that you already got Seiken Densetsu 3.

Explain (both parts)?

Bahamut Lagoon sucks and Fire Emblem Mystery of the Emblem is mediocre. Get Der Langrisser or Fire Emblem Thracia 776 if you want a super famicom TRPG.

I don't know about Terranigma or BS LoZ.

Also, reproduction games are inferior to flashcarts and emulators. If you really want a reproduction cart, I suggest that you play the games first then get a repro of your favourite.

You have to feed items to boost or evolve your dragons, it's completely random unless you use a guide. As for story...

Random is a bad word, more like trial and error.

I'd do Terranigma due to the issues people were saying with Bahamut Lagoon, and also that you're better off just playing the translated Fire Emblem releases at this point on the DS, GBA and 3DS.

>Bahamut Lagoon
If you like FE and SF you'd probably like this indeed, for some things I think it's a bit better conceptually than both and I'm surprised FE didn't pick up some ideas that BL introduced because they were pretty rad.
Keep in mind though that it's very different in actual execution, the battle design is completely different from FE and there isn't stuff like permadeath, forget what>>3121185 says, the Dragon raising system is a bit obscure but the game is way too easy for you to worry about minamxing and you'll realize what does what by trial and error very quickly by saving often, you don't even need a guide for that unless you want to minmax and steamroll a piss easy game, the "nasty story surprise" he refers to is that a certain character falls in love with another character, the usual retarded NTR meme that /a/ loves to spam, so unless you're one of those morons who can't stand fictional characters acting a bit differently from bland cliches you're not going to have any problems with that either, it's actually pretty interesting in terms of character development.
>Terranigma
Terranigma is a tough one, you must REALLY like the game's routine and story because it's absurdly long, I personally prefer other games like Zelda and SD3 because they're much more concise and you hardly have time to get fed up with the system, Terranigma's strength and weakness is that it's obscenely long.
>BS Legend of Zelda Maps 1 & 2
Haven't played these.
>Fire Emblem Mystery of the Emblem
Yeah it's kinda dated, but if you like the series as much as you say you might want to play it, at least for historical purpose, I'm not a fan of FE so I'd personally suggest you to play Tracia 776 if you haven't already as it's a bretty gud game on almost every level.

Heed >>3121191's advice and play the games beforehand, Repro are notoriously bad choices as they're made out of old cartridges that have their native files rewritten with ROMs, that often leads to problems.
