pce had so many models, there were even models that got rid of features like the PCE Shuttle or the Coregrafx II (the coregrafx I had a sound revision chip)

No, you would normally cut out some of the letters from 日本電気株式会社.
株式会社 just describes that it's a stock traded company, for Nintendo, Sega or Sony that part is also dropped or shortened to 社.
The common form is just 日本電気 but I imagine that some shorten it to 日電 which would then be pronounced Nichiden.
