ITT: N64 games that required you to hold the outside prongs instead of the middle+right ones

>> No.3105690

Kirby 64

Goemon's Great Adventure let you choose between the two, which is what most games should have done where applicable.

I'm almost sure Goemon's Great Adventure can only be controlled with the d-pad, but I could be remembering wrong.

>>3105669
Not sure if required but mischief makers is much easier on the d pad.

Too bad the game sucks though.

Excitebike 64
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
And any wrestling games.

I think Yoshi's Story did?

>>3106072
Harsh, Mischief Makers is a solid 6/10 game.

>> No.3106153

I believe Dr. Mario on 64 used the D-pad. It's been awhile since I last played it, though. Definitely my favorite version of Dr. Mario.

>> No.3106159

>>3106148

No, can't control Yoshi with the d-pad, only the stick. Some moves on the game require you to use the pressure-sensitive feature of the stick that would be impossible with the d-pad.

If you can work the wrestling games on that system without holding the left handle then you must have deformed hands.

I played puzzle league with the stick until a few years ago

Just a personal opinion. If it wasn't the wife's it would be traded already. Looks like a Playmobil toy set and isn't particularly engaging.

>> No.3106468

Pokemon Stadium was like that too.

So I just got DK64 and popped it in the other night. How long is this game? Looks fucking massive with tons of collectibles. Definitely a change from the DKC games.

Thanks! saved... here's another one.

I think it's a great game but it might not be for everybody, I don't know. For me it's easily a 9/10, but I think for other people it might be a 6 or a 7, like the other anon said, but I don't think it sucks.
I got it back in the day without knowing what I was getting into and was pleasantly surprised.

That game had some of the most engaging boss fights on the N64. That Lunar fight was so goddamn fun.
I've beaten the game 3 times and still have no fuckin idea what the plot was about though

For a Treasure game, MM has one of the most straightforward plots. Did you collect every golden gem in the game to see the full ending sequence?

I'm still working on getting an overall A rank. Can't get any S rank though, earning them require TAS-level skills.

>> No.3106696

>>3106683
I never collected all the gems myself but I bought a used copy and the previous owner had collected every gold gem and cleared almost every level with an S. That person was a fuckin MM savant.
Ok so I get the general jist of the plot with taking down the Beastector bros and all that but what was the deal with Theo?
Did he make Marina? Was he trying to fuck her?

DK64 is literally Collectathon: The Game.
