Hypothetically, if they were looking at this board, they would probably be counting on people like you thinking that in order for them to avoid detection and their plan to work.

>>3090657
>conspiracy inanity
When did I ever claim conspiracy? A conspiracy is two or more people planning to commit a crime. Unfortunately, it's not yet illegal to be an undercover marketer (and probably never will). And I'm not sure if you meant insane or inane, but I would point out I've done nothing which could possibly provide any basis for you assuming that. Obviously, it's highly unlikely companies intend to begin producing SNES games as you suggest but it's not inconceivable they might devise other, less-retarded ideas for how to milk the retro games cash cow. For a cow, however old and dried up and oft-neglected it may be, is still a cow, and the farmers will never stop until she dies.

The full definition of "conspire" is "to work together to bring about a particular result, typically to someone's detriment"

Why don't you actually look up what words mean before you use them?

Started gaming on my dad's NES when I was about 5. It was mostly just Mario bros 1 and 3 but also some duck hunt. I don't think I ever beat anything or got good until much later.

I started playing on my neighbor's N64 not long after that (mostly just SM64), but the first system I owned in my own right was a lime green GBC my dad got me for my 6th birthday in early 1999 along with Blue version. In Christmas of 1999 I got my own N64 at last along with Smash Bros. and OoT, which became my next obsession after Pokemon. Even so I think I beat Majora's Mask well before I ever 100 percented OoT.

I got a GCN in 2002 with Melee and a few games, but I spent by far most of my time on Melee and Animal Crossing.

In 2008 I got a PS3 with CoD4 and eventually a bunch of other titles, but nothing from the 7th generation really stands out to me as a classic except for perhaps Fallout: NV. I have played through the main game + DLC thrice I believe. I've definitely logged over 400 hours.

Currently I'm kind of burnt out with gaming. I don't really identify as a "gamer" anymore, if I ever did. I own no current gen console except an N3DS and about 10 decent games for it, and currently spend most of my time on either FE:Fates (a decent game by modern standards) or the Game of Thrones mod for CK2 (the recent update has rekindled my interest in this ancient game). If I were to get any console now it would be a WiiU, but with 8th gen being in its twilight I'm waiting for the drastic and inevitable price cuts. No way in hell am I paying the same price for what is basically a suped-up gamecube with a touchscreen than I would for a PS4 or XBone.

I didn't really play video games as a kid, only sports games and various Mario spinoffs. Not sure why, maybe my attention span was just too short.

I started to get in to gaming again when I was like 13 and rediscovered my Gamecube. After playing Super Mario Sunshine, I wanted to play more Mario games, so I bought an N64 with Super Mario 64 and have been hooked on retro gaming ever since. I mostly play 4th and 5th gen titles.

We had a lot of NES games, but most of them were forgettable. Same with the SNES and Genesis. So I find it funny when people my age list off all of the "greats" from those systems (besides the pack-ins). You must have either had really well informed parents, or an uncle or older brother who was picking out your games for you. Also, a lot of those games are pretty difficult (well, besides the JRPGs) and I have a hard time believing people who played them as young children would look back fondly on them (simply because most children would get lost or hit a game over on the first few levels).

A bit hard to answer. I don't feel like periods as long as childhood and adolescence were defined by only a few games. I've always tended to finish a game and then move on, so I just picked the games that came to mind as ones I spent a lot of extra time with. Runescape might be the most important game I've ever played, it's what got me into computer programming. It just looked so shitty that I thought "I bet I could do better than this," so I taught myself to code and now I do it for a living.

Filling this one out kind of made me realize that there aren't many well written characters in retro vidya. If I went non retro, I'd probably choose Link and Tetra from Wind Waker. And if I judged simply on how cool they are, I'd pick either Ryu Hayabusa or Doomguy and either Ayla or Sheik.
