I've been wondering, but is it possible to catch missingno in the red, blue, and yellow versions that are now available on the e-shop?

According to some sources, it is. But you probably wouldn't want to store it in your Pokémon Bank account

What the fuck is a Pokémon bank account?

What about the Mew glitch? Does it work?

Yes and yes, confirmed. The VC versions are largely identical to the originals, save for some minor changes they patched in:

>changes to link cable process to allow emulator to hook wireless system into it
>all attacks with flashing animations have the animations toned back to prevent photosensitive epileptic reactions
>yellow: printer functions disabled
>yellow: surfing pikachu game unlocked without needing a surfing pikachu
>yellow: jynx now has purple skin

So any known glitch that doesn't involve these elements should work. I haven't tried them, but I'd imagine glitches involving multiplayer (such as cloning Pokemon) probably won't work due to the alterations they made to how it works now.

You can Google that shit instead of acting like an idiot. Pokebank is a service for storing your pokemon in the cloud so that you don't have to catch 700 pokemon every time you buy a recent game.

Just a note that Missingno is not and has never been present in Pokemon Yellow.

You can see one by doing the Mew glitch: I got one by fighting a Zubat near the Dark Cave exit right before the final step of the glitch. But catching one is almost impossible, since 99% of the time it'll crash the game.

Why would you want to catch one anyway? That just ends up corrupting your file.

not true

it only muddles up your hall of fame record.
M' and some other glitch pokemon can do some weird things with your game but only if you send them to the pc.
there are methods to "stablize" them though.

the corrupt save is a not based in reality statement from nintendo on the matter to discourage people from glitching.

If a level 0'mis captured and sent to thePC,the game will freeze if the player tries to withdraw itdue to having an invalid growth algorithm. This is probably the cause of the false rumors ofmissingno and otherglitch Pokémonbeing horribly dangerous to the saved game file if captured.Once 'm gains a level, it will be able to be stored and withdrawn from the PC without freezing.

This won't matter if you get it via the Mew Glitch, since it will be at level 7. Point is, Missingno is present in Yellow and can be encountered without cheat codes.

Supposedly Ghost and Fossil form Missingno are fine in Yellow, but you need the Ditto glitch to find it because no wild Pokemon in Yellow have a high enough Special. Shame you can't transfer items from Gen 1.

Different glitch. Not the same. It also freezes your game and doesn't duplicate your items, so.

Still stupid to risk your save file for nothing. What's the point of catching it?
