Which Bomberman would y'all say has the very best multiplayer? Bonus points if it can be played on a hacked Wii, and a gold star for playable Pretty Bomber.

Bomberman 64, but that just might be my nostalgia goggles talking.

Sigh, yeah. Are the JP menus reasonable to navigate? I've been thinking about getting a Saturn Action Replay or modchip anyway.

second attack had some cool modes but you have to unlock them in single player first. bummer.

This one: https://mega.nz/#!A4gBRYBT!KQRO2sEATATkDiTOWaaSgRaM5BErh-9f6msJbvtFOfU

I found this recently on a backup on an old burnt CD of mine. It's a Bomberman clone for DOS and my first Bomberman game (so I'm obviously a bit biased, but hear me out anyway). It has several levels all without any unnecesary gimmicks like conveyor belts or teleports, it has only basic powerups and kicking is the only way to manipulate bombs.

It is weighted such that powerups appear often and such that having 6+ bombs is not unusual as is having bombs that will blow across almost the entire screen.

It also has a CTF mode to mix things up.

The menu is a little buggy in DOSbox unfortunately so you have to insist. It should run fine on a proper Win 98 or even up to Win XP-machine though.

The controls are unfortunately hardcoded and are: Joystick, WASD+TAB, IJKL+H and arrows+delete

Did I mention it also has a map editor?

Alright, rounds rad. I'll grab it for when I eventually get around to setting up DOSbox

>> No.2896248

I enjoyed the Bomberman "Online" local multiplayer. It's a Dreamcast game, so that's even better/easier than dealing with a hacked Wii.

You do have a Dreamcast, right?

Saturn if you want to spend a lot of time untangling cables
10 player mode is over rated as you only get he one map, 8 player you get a choice

Otherwise the new version of Power Bomberman(v.0.5.1) finally has netplay and it works great.

Mega Bomberman for Megadrive.
It's funny you say that about the hacked Wii, because a friend of mine had a hacked Wii, we could play Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Wario Ware... (you know, all the party games the Wii is known for) but most of the time we ended up firing up the Megadrive emulator to play Mega Bomberman.

If you have 2-3 friends and a hacked wii then you should give Fortune Street a try. The standard game of course, not easy mode. It's a fantastic MP experience provided the game suits your inclinations.

this is the absolute best in arena mode with friends

we had to make up rules because we would get so pissed fucking each other over

honorable mention: bomberman party edition. i love the stages in that one a lot. quick sand, conveyor belts, etc.

I keep seeing the Genesis version up for sale cheap(might be repro) locally, is it really not worth it?

>> No.2901306

>>2901284
pc engine version supports up to 5 players as opposed to genesis' 4, it also has more colors and graphical effects, iirc less slowdown too, but not sure on that one. if it's cheap, i guess you could get the genesis one.

>> No.2902152

>>2901306

That's weird, one of the gauntlet games on genesis did support 5 players with one of the team players mutli-taps. It technically could have supported 5 players. Any slowdowns are probably mitigated by the "overclock" mod.

Will def get it if it's just a slight downgrade compared to the PCE.
