Put this in the CRT thread, may as well share it here, too.

PVM-20M4U that I just picked up after years of searching on and off. Old Sony stereo receiver and SS-B1000 speakers sound excellent. Took this just after setting up, so my SNES and Genesis aren't in the picture. Also looking into modding my NES and N64 for RGB.

Never played FF7 or owned a PS1 as a kid, so I figured it would be first on my hit list. Pretty comfy.

Flat screens are more likely to have geometry issues, since it's more natural for the electron gun to fire across a curved surface as it aims. That said, I owned a 32" JVC flatscreen that was just fine. Occasionally there would be an issue with the edges of the screen, but it was always very minor. I was lucky as fuck when I was a kid. My parents bought us our own 20 inch TV just for video games and put it in this sweet desk that essentially mimicked an arcade cabinet. Had one of those weird kneeling chairs in front of it. It was really neat.

Thanks! I quite like it, too. Got it for a few bucks at a flea market many years ago. Can't recall the model number. STR-7025 maybe? Mid 1970s, I think. It's nothing special, but it puts out a nice clean signal, and the gentle green glow soothes my weary soul.

Audio is something most people tend to neglect when setting up a game station, but there's something about it that enhances the experience so much for me. Some 8-bit sound effects become pure ear sex when they're played loud and clear enough to go right through you. Old CRT TVs generally had better built-in speakers than modern flatscreens, but it's amazing how much even they can pale in comparison to the simplest dedicated set-up.

Well I've been listening to vinyls since i was a kid. I'm 26 now and about half of my collection is my mothers. She was a big influence on my taste in music and she had some great taste!!!

Is there any local record shops near you?
What is your main taste in music?
Me personally I was always really into Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, ac/dc, George Thorogood just to name a few off the top of my head. My mom liked all the rock but she also opened me up to some stuff like Michael Jackson, the go-gos, Cyndi lauper, Elton John...
any decent record store should have a wide selection. You should ask your friends what classic bands or artists they like and see if they say anything you haven't listened too, you'll most likely find something you never thought you would like!

N64, SNES, NES (first two share the same scart, next two power supply)

MegaCD32x, next box has changed and is NOT RETRO!! PS2x2(chipped, HDD modded) 360. PS3
Saturn (got two on there right now, ones fully modded another got a Rhea), PCE, DC Famicom
CD32 (yes it gets played on), Master system
All have wires coming to a point at the bottom and the CRT has a SCART extension cable thats set down there

Only draw back I have found is, controllers dont reach the sofa so when friends come over things have to move, looking into extension cables
Yes its a Verctrex on that stand Xbox, 7800 (used for my games nights a fair bit and its power supply is annoying) among the TV boxes

Have spent much less time down there since we had a son, hence why the upstairs battlestation is crowding the limits of good taste. Putting in this 60" plasma for Christmas helped balance the retro stuff nicely though.
