Read the rules. It does not belong on this board. Why is it so hard for you people to understand such a simple thing. This board is for games and consoles up to a certain point. Some of you think just because a game is a certain age its retro. This is board is for games up until a certain generation. Deal with it. If it was up to some of you people, in a few years Xbox360 games would be allowed just cause is over 10 years old.

I'm sorry, I cannot see your rationale at all. When people make that argument, it sounds like they're scheming to ensure that this board dies. Can you please explain to me the purpose for an eternal cutoff at 1999? Because not only is it a massive logical inconsistency, it contradicts the reasoning in the sticky. And every other community's definition of retro, not that that's really relevant, but it may explain the source of confusion and frustration. I have still not seen one single explanation for this rigid death grip on 1999, other than "that's just the way it is lel top kek lel back /v/ fagit sage not retro kek top lel". So please. If you can explain to me why that rule is the way it is, let me know. Because so far, nobody has. And it's led me to believe thus far that nobody actually has an answer, which can't be the case.

Having the cutoff is not a bad thing. If not then this board would be /v/ 2.0. Its just point in time that was pic so the board could take shape. Do people really think that by not having the cutoff point the board would be better. Do you really think that letting in other consoles in is going to improve things. I think all these people complaining are younger people whose first console was the first PS and xbox and they are feeling left out cause with the cutoff they cant talk about "Muh Console" on this board and if they go to /v/ they wont get any replies over there cause its all the newer stuff. Its like they're stuck in no man's land. I can see why it would suck but thats still no reason to come here and screw things up. The cutoff is there and thats how it is sometimes in life. Somethings are just because they are and you just have to deal with it. Thats life when your older you'll learn these things. Maybe they can petetion and get a board for the things left out but this board shouldnt be allowed to have those newer consoles on it at any time. The PS1 and 2 and xbox aren't ever gonna be considered retro nor should they.
