What I've noticed is that he's playing a version of Fallout GURPS. What could have been? http://fallout.gamepedia.com/Fallout_GURPS

Does Bethesda's Fallout still work on the computers it was originally made for?

My disc finally gave up the ghost, and all the recent releases are updated.

"bethesda" fallout is just fallout with the hd patch on top

I dunno, it's hard to go back to. Modern Fallout is so much better.

Delete your thread and repost it with a less /v/ermin styled image and MAYBE I'll consider contributing to it. Otherwise FUCK OFF!

Doubt it'd really change the game much. Fallout 1 and 2 already had an issue with a lot of the stats being pretty much worthless so I don't see how having even more would improve that.

Vr is incredibly salty to someone friendly to their ways and entirely in rules.

I think I like the ui more
. Fo1 had an atrocious ui. 2 fixed some problems but it still wasn't a good ui

Their incorporation of the HD patch is kind of sloppy as opposed to just modding the original; I can't run it right on my XP while I've always been able to run the original.

That said, GOG's edition at least still has a "classic" EXE that is the exact same as vanilla. So grab that.

It defiantly need some tweaking. I wish they would find a goddamn middle ground when it comes to picking abilities in the Fallouts.
>FO1-2 80% of the skills were useless
>Tactics shit game but streamlined in some ways bogged down in others
>FO3 A little better but unbalanced as shit
>FO4 SKILLS REMOVED

Just picked up the GOG version of FO1. My problem with it is it's so damn stuttery. Then I removed ddraw.dll as suggested, but then the colors went all wonky. I didn't mind that for a while but now recently the screen goes black and I have to run my cursor along it to get it back but then it goes black again.

My only problem with Tactics was how useless speech, bartering and charisma was. Also, the men you commanded would shoot at each other without extreme micromanagement and you had to direct them inch by inch or they wouldn't move anywhere.

New Vegas had the perfect balance between fun-and-useful skills and fun-and-impractical skills. I did a hardcore run using only explosives and unarmed and shit was awesome.

>useless speech
No doubt a skill that doesn't exist in the game is useless.
>Charisma
Actually, Fallout: Tactics is the only Fallout game which actually makes use of Charisma and makes CH-based characters viable (compare it to maybe around 20 Charisma checks in miscellaneous, obscure places in FO1&2 put altogether that serve little purpose except fluff) because high Charisma has some useful perks and lets you recruit better characters. CH1-2 characters can only scrape recruits from the bottom of the barrel, CH>=8 characters will be going strong along with their equals or superiors.

What's with the hate on F:T, anyway? Squad-based tactics (which are crazy fun to do with the SPECIAL system), polished graphics and retained overall Fallout feel in spite of being pretty much a fanfic spinoff game isn't bad at all.

Anyways, I'm nearing necropolis (searching for a way to get there), how early should I go for big weapons? So far my 10mm gun is deleting everyone.
