Both games are great but Smash is better. I don't see the problem. Chrono Trigger is good but not the best. Good plot and nonlinearity, somewhat poor combat system.

/vr/ use to be awesome but over the last couple months it's really gone down hill. I think heavier moderation (in what is and isn't retro) would help promote deeper discussion because right now you have shit threads like this that belong on /v/.

I did enjoy CT on my first playthrough, but SSBM has practically infinite replay value for me, so that's what I voted for.

I really haven't felt compelled to pick up CT and replay it, but maybe that's because it didn't have a chance to instill me with nostalgia when it was released sometime during my early teenage years. It was only after the Final Fantasy Chronicles collection rolled out that I picked up the game and played it for the first time ever. Sure, it's a solid game, but I don't feel like it lives up to all the hype.
