I honestly think some mods have unofficially changed the rules, as some threads have been deleted as well as some off topic stuff.

It's weird because some GBA threads are allowed and others not.

Is there a way to petition for rules to be adjusted or for new moderators?

It really is retro. Anything over 2 generations old should be included.

If you're playing on an emulator, fiddle with the color settings. GBA games are saturated in order to compensate for the dim screen from the early models.

I'm 36. I remember people calling the n64 and ps1 retro when the ps2 was out. I don't think this is unreasonable to have a 2 generation age limit. This would exclude the 360/ps3/wii but include dc/gba/ps2/gc. Which no one talks about on /v/ but tons of people like on /vr/

Even if he really remembers people calling them retro (I don't really think so as there were still games for both consoles in 2000, but whatever), it still doesn't mean shit, just anecdotical evidence that doesn't help any argument.

/vr/ has already enough problems with stuff like emulation vs collectors, e-celebs and whiny people wanting to include 6th gen.

If we were to allow 6th gen here then we'd start having Halo and God of War threads and, believe me, you don't want to see the amount of shitposting /vr/ would get if that were to happen. From both sides.

We have to hold the fort down. The moment we begin to accept GCN/PS2/Xbox games we open the floodgates for high poly games. I think 18 years old, with wiggle room for particularly memorable games (FFVII/OoT) should be the metric by which retro is judged.

Also, Gamestop still sells it, it's not retro.
