He's probably one of my favorite Japanese "American" characters. Comes a lot closer to what I think American's would actually consider badass than many do.

Many don't, and they don't need to. But those who act autistic about it are another kind of weird.

On the extreme ends of the spectrum you have story/lore fags you don't even play the games at all...and they kinda suck, extreme MUH E SPORTS fags who actually know a lot more than they'd admit about the franchises because they want to turn their nerdy obsession into something "cool" and "adult", which is awful...like people who like MLP but pretend "i'm only in it for the porn, i dont watch the show!"

Yeah...that doesn't make you look any cooler. The best people play the games and also acknowledge the lore, but you certainly don't have to care about the story to enjoy fighting games, character design and art are important though as is music and the other artistic elements of the genre...if it wasn't people would just play pong instead
