Sadly half of the forum is full of ass hurt people trying to cancel out anything negative about the game, saying "It's beta", while ignoring the fact that many of the bugs and steep learning curve are sort of big issues, especially considering the developers have until December 29th to fix upon the majority of them. I really am not sure how anyone could possibly fix this shit in less than 2 months. Basically, I agree with this comment.

I would have probably considered not refunding my game if there was more developer to consumer communication involved, but sadly the whole divide between people angry about the beta and the people angry about people angry about the beta shows that there's not too much hope in that, especially when you have hardcore shills

These are graphics you'd expect to be placeholders, not finished models. The trees look like they took 5 minutes to make, and while the haunted house has a lot more effort put in (as it should, since it's a ploppable ride), it doesn't have the amount of effort you'd expect from an entire ride.

Flat surfaces are okay, but this amount of them just speaks of either laziness or a lack of manpower, both of which are problems common with indie devs to the point where it's indistinguishable which one it is.

It looks half-finished.

-A spinning coaster

-Files referencing the PlayStation and Ouya, probably generic Unity stuff
-There are 6 souvenir stalls and 7 food stalls, with each having 4 variations corresponding to each theme (Generic, Adventure, Sci-Fi, Western). There are more food items and souvenirs than that, but there's too many to list.
-Tutorials for opening bathrooms, checking finances, building coasters etc.
-Guests can take selfies, so you can't accurately recreate Disneyland
-Staff can "regenerate" now, so apparently they're all fucking timelords or there's some retarded mana-esque resource system
-There's an easter egg where you can annoy a peep somehow

That's what I could glean from a cursory glance. I'm going to try to load some of the mesh files into Unity.

I'm gonna try and see if it's actually doable before I upload it anywhere. Trying to decide whether the ride height should be unlimited but with harder guest gen or vice versa. Guest intensity is a hard thing too. Not sure if I should leave it as default, <4 or >7. Also, it'll be park entrance fee with guests carrying ~£20 so that'll make cash generation harder. There's no construction rights or further areas to purchase. You get everything in the Mars area.

Alright, I cba to test it any more. It's pretty hard. Goal is to get 180k park value by year 4. Can't get more than £20 per guest entry fee and the guest cap comes in pretty fast. Haven't had more than 300 guests with all this stuff. Some stuff will probably have to be changed to either make it a bit easier or harder.

The ride selection is pretty sparse too, starting with reverse freefall, mini, spiral, air powered and togo coaster. Will probably drop reverse freefall coaster from the initial ride list since it's 2gud. There's very little space to build much and building high up is expensive as fuck.

And I can tell you that it does work, but it shouldn't work. The dependencies it requires don't exist on certain distros (such as CentOS, the on I've been trying to get it to run on), and these dependencies are for running AND building it and is version specific at build-time, which means that the Docker build script they have cannot work on other distros except for arch. Worse is the fact that it has some bugs unannounced to Windows, and apparently, we are the ONLY ones finding them, and getting relevant data from crashes and how to debug crashes is out of my league.

>>2793829
There has been some attempts to try and get it onto Debian on a fork by someone who made the Docker build script, but sadly, he has no idea how to Debian, so no. I would, but I don't know how to .deb.

Also, a new update on getting the server working. After I said that, I am going to make a Docker script to build and run OpenRCT2. Shouldn't take me too long (hopefully). I'll get right on it when I get home. If we find any more problems, I will try to document it this time.

Yeah, my coaster building is still pretty crappy. Here's an attempt at trying to get a general idea of what I want to build, going something along the lines of "go up really high, then some staggered drops, some back-and-forth with a second smaller peak, and in the end the coaster crosses under all the straights from before before cutting around and going back to the station". I think it at least looks somewhat presentable.

>>2795310

I had recently researched River Rapids, saw that hillside as an interesting target for a ride, and it eventually developed into another clusterfuck. One big problem is that I don't give up on ride designs. I'll go back and change something a bit if necessary, but in general, once I lay down a path, that's where it is. Then, about 50% of the design later, it turns out that what I did back there causes a problem, and then the design devolves into trying to sort of work around my earlier fuckups. That leads to really fucking retarded shit like building a straight path above the station platform because I ran out of room to make the return.

I should probably stop that.

You're not gonna get very good stats if you build like this matey. Here's some things to consider

Staggered drops are a fun idea, but they also sound uncomfortable. If you want a drop to be "jarring", maybe just have a less steep slope before the steep part, that way it adds a sense of "suspense" as well (green line)

The reason your coaster is uncomfortable is because of too much speed when going up hills (red circles). Riders will have get a lot of negative G forces, meaning your legs get crushed up into the restraints, because your body has a lot of momentum going upwards. The green circle is how you want a drop to be, with lots of airtime and not as much negative G forces. Also, you might wanna avoid turns after drops when you can. Good luck!
