That ball game in Wild Arms festival is TRUE bullshit.
No rhyme or reason to it.

This one can be controlled IIRC

Even looking at a complete breakdown of how the game works I still get skunked because RNG.

Getting 100 in this minigame. At least it's easier in the pal version, since it runs slower.

If you're a first time player, you most likely will get stuck once. I got stuck once, timed out, never timed out again. It's pretty cooky to get by there because the manual I don't think mentions it, and the game doesn't introduce what you're supposed to do before hand(not handholding, but introducing the mechanic), and this is the only time the game does this. I found it by jumping on it and holding down.

>>2748973
Ah yes, that fuckin' headbutt lag. Though after you learn to work through it it's really easy.

>> No.2751134

>>2750704
Wow. Just wow. Pretty sure most first timers didn't get stuck there. I can't even imagine how you could. It takes 30 seconds of trying to figure it out. Mechanic introduction? For a one off thing? Plz...

>Starting a run of FFIX the other day
>Get to this part
>Realize back in the day I'd never actually gotten 100, thought it was impossible
>Look it up and discover my mistake
>Controller's right part of d-pad is fucked which throws off my rhythm
>Keep getting 99
>A couple tries in, make the mistake of going to smoke a bowl
>Come back to 97s consistently instead of 99s
>Put down the controller for about 30 seconds to collect myself
>Ace the fight immediately

What it came down to for me was doing it enough to realize the start was always > , X or Triangle. From then on I could just power through it with the right rhythm.

Gah, that fucking card game. I wanted to love it, but it was just too much of a cluster fuck.

Triple Triad might have been tough later in the game, but it starts out fairly simple and builds on that. Tetra Master had too steep a learning curve, if there was one at all. I gave up on it quite early and never bothered again.

My brother did well with it for a little while, and eventually came to the conclusion it was bullshit as well.

>> No.2752787

I liked it better than Triad. I just wish it had a better Tutorial system and actually told you what everything meant up front.

Alleyway Jack knew, damnit.

You do get an accessory that you normally only get much later. It lets you learn shell right in the beginning of the game. It's not a must have, but it's nice.
