ITT: Boss fights that made you drop the game you were playing.

Though these guys are easy if you use Freedan. I just didn't know you could even use him against them back then.

I feel you OP, spent many hours of rage trying to beat these guys with Will.
Embarrassingly, it also took me ages to figure out how to kill the cyclops first boss in the game.

>> No.2725828

>>2725797
I always thought the first boss was by far the hardest boss in the game. Vampires were definitely second, though.

>> No.2725882

Kinda the goblin or gargoyle with sword and shield in ActRaiser 2. I had that mini-boss and they re-use him way to often. The others have nice pattern to memorise and abuse, but he is just an asshole. Now pair that up with a shitty level with randomly placed flying skulls and I'm out. That level is bullshit.

Probably a really easy boss for most people, but I just couldn't stay on the platforms to save my life. Never liked the Wily stages much in these games, either.

Why would you use Crash Bomb against the dragon when you need to save them for another boss fight? Just stay on the top block and use Quick Boomerang. If you get hit, you'll be knocked onto the second block and you just jump back up.

>> No.2728716

>>2728490
No, stand on the middle block, like a boss, and use regular weapon. Jump as needed. Never get hit...
That other damn boss.........fuck that. I always screw up and reset.

I eventually "un-dropped" it, but I will never say that Jaquio should not fuck himself.

Indalecio in SO2. I couldn't do it even at level 120. He just would wipe me out in one attack every time so I just sold the game.

I actually did drop this game when I fought those bosses. When I emulated the game later, I learned how to deal with them: You have invincibility frames and they don't.

>> No.2729240

>>2725828
Same, I always died over and over again at that first boss and quit playing for years until I was told he never shoots that one corner ever. Then after that I went through the entire game easily.

I never got past the final boss of B.O.B. It's tough enough on its own, but it doesn't help that the previous boss can withstand a ton of punishment and the game has limited ammo.

>>2729184
I find the final bosses of most JRPGs fairly anticlimactic: they're often supposed to be some sort of godlike being, but they aren't really any tougher than any other boss in the game.

Indalecio is an exception to that rule. He's in a whole different league from any of the previous bosses, and might very well kill a first-time player within seconds on their first attempt. You really need to rethink your usual strategies if you want to have any chance of defeating him without grinding or delving into the hidden "post-game" dungeon.

I feel a little bad for players that removed Indalecio's limiter on their first playthrough without understanding what it did.

The best way to handle this is to keep a couple herbs handy. Charge up will and dash into them.Focus on one vamp at a time. The ticking timebomb with Eric is the only big challenge.

I never got anywhere near the final boss. B.O.B. was one of my all-time favorites, and the furthest I ever got was this robot dragon head thing... once.

Boss that stopped me in my tracks...

Yeah, sooooooo easy to use crash bombs against wall sensors amirite? You need the same fucking weapon to destroy the walls in order to reach the sensors, you need to use weapon 1-3 a lot in order to save the short ammo of the fucking crash bombs on the sensors.

Oh, and guess what, you fuck up once this boss, you are completely fucked, you die and respawn with the same amount of fucking ammo you spent last time. So you can only do this boss battle once.

That is some serious development fuckup it's hilarious to pretend it was good design.

The walls stay destroyed after you blow them up. If you need to you can grind for weapon energy from the enemies that span in the moving platform areas.

That used to be the Doc Robots from Mega Man 3, but the I got gud.

>>2732334
Actually, a few stages from then. More than ample enough time to refill. That said, you will need the Crash Bombs for the boss after >>2728440 , but there's no way to refill for that without getting a game over (but you can use the Metal Blades to do the job just as well)

One crash bomb to the gut kills him. Stand on the top brick, wait for him to go up, then hop down, shoot his gut with a crash bomb and bam, next stage.

This thing totally confused me as a kid. Basically made me drop the game for several years until finally figuring it out as a teenager.
