I had a color at the time so I dont know why I was playing that but I figured since I had a color I would just leave it there and I lived on a farm so nobody was going to find and take it. The next year I had wanted to play donkey kong land again (the game I had in it) so I went out to the stump lifted it up grabbed the gameboy, it was dry cause it was a hot summer day the same way I left it and to my surprise it still worked. Not surprised by nintendium anymore but it showed me when I was a kid. The LCD screen is probably the most fragile part of the gameboy even covered a direct impact would shatter the screen.

My brother loved that shit, I always thought it was dumb. I'll never forgive him for buying a shitty transparent playstation controller.

clear only gets annoying on systems with a lit screens, since the light seeps all around the screen... but that was never the case with gameboys. (with the exception of the glacier GBA with the afterburner mod).

I just think they're ugly. The internal boards and components are "cool" to look at if you take it apart for repair, but as the cosmetic appeal for the entire console, it just looks shitty. They look much more nice in a full pure color.

I can agree with this, at least as far as the completely transparent look goes. Opaque is nice (imo) when done subtly, but too much visibility of the internals just makes it really jarring.

That's true too. My N64 is the DK Jungle Green. It's transparent, but it's not so clear that the internals are easily visible. I don't mind that. I had the Atomic Purple GBC and always hated it because it was transparent. I eventually gutted it and put the board in a dead Pokemon edition GBC. No regrets.

I like transparent stuff usually.
I love my clear Pocket, though I admit being torn between it and the black one because the pinkish letter labels under the buttons made me swoon.

I like the Atomic Purple Color, but often find myself using my Lime Green because I play at night and the lighter green has a slight albedo effect.
I don't like the transparency on the 2DS though.
