Stop trying to dodge the attacks and just wail on him at close range.

Were you trying to fuck with me? If not sorry I guess, but now that I've fought him a couple times more, given he does three damage, I don't think I could've pulled that off. Alternating dodging and jumping on a plattform to slash him was my preferred strategy by the end.

Sorry to disappoint, but I did give up eventually. It beat me. After having to play through this same stage 4 or 5 times after losing to Jaquio, I eventually did a savestate before him to learn how to beat him. I had spent like 7 hours trying to beat the game, 5 or so of which were dedicated to stage 6. And even after all that this feels like a really hollow victory. I swear to god, his fucking fireballs are worse than Wily's bullets in MM7.

Maybe I'll try to beat this game legit someday, (most likely the JPN version) and I'm sure not having to use a keyboard next time might help, but right now I can't even look at it.

Gah.

No. I played through this recently and doing that was all I found to work effectively.

Oh, Okay. So, does he not touch the wall or something? Is there a spot where you can just repeatedly jump and get him? Cause if not, you have to understand, that for a (comparatively) fast and huge moving floating monster that does as much damage as a silver eagles, shoots relentless homing fireballs at you and that you most likely only get to see for 20 seconds before getting sent back 3 levels, that does not seem like a reasonable strategy. Specially for someone who's been playing that all day.

Unless you mean the level 5 boss? If so, you're absolutely right, he loses that struggle, dodging his attacks is not worth it. I would understand the confusion since you fight him in the same place you get sent back after losing to the Final Boss.

Ah, you see, I knew something was odd about that.

Malth is a complete chump if you just slash him all the time, he's almost as easy as the first boss. It's a guaranteed win. In fact, all the bosses are really easy to figure out, even the very last one. But not Jaquio. Nope. Not only is he the hardest to figure out, he requires a completely different strategy to anything you've done in the game so far.

>Were you trying to fuck with me?
I just didn't use any scroll power at all in the level and unleashed it all on him.
>Motherfucker survives all your fire wheels.
At least it takes more than half it's life before he gets to hit you twice.
