My score record as a kid was something like 90,000,000. Yeah, 90 million, not 9 million. Never saw anyone get anywhere near that irl... but of course the internet has probably raped that score somewhere.

Honestly I could have even done better than that in the same game but I was getting bored and just wanted it to be over already. Can't believe I still remember details of that one game where I made that score, kek.

How? The last time I had that little ram it was 1998.
I have a bag of about ~60 sticks of 512/1GB/2GB sticks of DDR memory that I just picked up for free.
Just raid people tossing out old machines or something. 128/256 sticks were common and if you just ganked them from shit people were tossing or getting rid of you'd have 4 sticks for a gig. I still haven't seen less than a gig of memory since 1999 for my main machines.

The two big ones are system security, and software compatibility. For example, I remember reading that Chrome will have limited support for XP, while Firefox will continue to support it for as long as it remains a relevant OS. Windows XP has more holes than Swiss cheese, but most of them have been plugged up with updates and anti-viruses. Since it's such an old operating system, it has some flaws as well, namely it doesn't really support SSDs, and the search function is kinda wonky. Neither is a real significant issue, at least to someone who knows their way around computers. But one real issue is that older operating systems were typically 32-bit, and 32-bit systems could only access so much RAM, I think 3GB total for both system and video. And I'm assuming that 32-bit applications will be discontinued eventually, since 64-bit is the new standard.

There was this guy who bought a laptop with Vista on it, but it was password protected. I offered to wipe it and put XP on it for a price, but he said that he needed to make his money with it (I guess he's a DJ or something?), then he'd pay me. So I gave to him in good faith. Bastard didn't pay me, conveniently a bunch of reasons kept coming up, so much for trying to help. That said, it had a dual core AMD CPU, and I believe 512MB of RAM. It fucking flew with Windows XP.

1. You need to do the "missions." You'll see that the board points arrows of where you should hit the ball, and there will be text on the right telling you what you have to do. E.g. 'upgrade flaps'. If you successfully do a whole mission before losing a life you'll get a huge score bonus.

2. There are ways you can get extra balls/replays. If you hit the ball four times up that "hyperdrive" thing on the right, giving you four lines, you'll get a message saying "Extra ball available." However that doesn't mean you have the extra ball yet. To actually get the extra ball you have to get the ball to fall down one of those shoots on the right or left that then blast the ball upwards. If the ball goes down one of the chutes while the extra ball is available you'll get it, and a message will say "Extra ball" on the right. Extra ball is basically an extra life.

I don't know how exactly you get replay ball but if you get it in the wormhole sometimes one of the two red lights will light up at the bottom, meaning that if you die you'll get a free replay.

3. There are other little tips and tricks for more score. When you start for instance, don't blast the ball all the way up. Try to get three lines and you'll get a 75,000 score bonus. Then there's things like upgrading the bumpers. You'll see a yellow light when your ball rolls segments. When you get three lights the bumpers upgrade and are more powerful/give more score. You can control the lights a bit by hitting the left or right bumper. Prob don't make sense, my bad.

4. Other ways to help is to get shit like the centre blockage thing after getting three of the hyperdrive things. You can also get gravity well by doing the hyperdrive thing five times in a row but I don't like gravity well tbh.

5. The rest is all reflexes and being in control, having good aim at where you want the ball to go. Hope this helps! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Computers didn't cost 4000 unless you were retarded. Even buying no name brands still only cost like 1500, but you could together one with parts online for 1K or under.

In 1999 I had 768MB ram and that did actually cost ~900 bucks. Bringing the total of that machine up to about near 2K. About on par for cost of the 'high' end shit dell etc would rip you off for but with basically everything top tier except the 30 dollar a piece dual CPU.

As far as saying I'm full of sit, well congratulations then. I don't give a honestly don't give a fuck it doesn't change reality and the fact that I had boatloads of rams. Though I could have gotten away with significantly less, it was still nice to have for some things.
You can go count the max memory for the Abit BH6 and the Abit BP6 as maxing out with 384 / 768 MB of RAM with 3 slots. They could, so I did.

I bought a few other machines over time. Like six or eight or something. I'd buy moderate hardware and upgrade some things and slap the old hardware the shittier cheap cases I bought for like 25 bucks along with any worse odds and ends like a crappier soundcard or using onboard and put up relatively minimal but passable hardware in it and I had my own LAN up and friends could stop by and play games. Those cases were fucking miserable to work with though, my main case was glorious 120 dollar full tower beast though. But those chinsy cheap cases sliced up my knuckles and hands a bit. It was kind of nice. I still have the hardware floating around, but I'm basically down to one machine these days and no one plays multiplayer anymore. People keep saying they want too, we all have internet and low ping broadband, never happens. Life catches up with them and we haven't really found any decent replacement games as well.

Also, Freecell up until Vista was brutal because you could only undo 1 movement, and if you selected or deselected any stack, it counted as a new "move", so you couldn't undo anything anymore. In Vista they reprogrammed it from scratch, and you could now undo the entire game.
