i actually beat the game unlike you cyperpunk poseurs and it was horrible. the gameplay is so bad that they give you an invisibility spell because it becomes impossible to do anything in battles late-game because they dump 10+ guys on you. hacking fucking blows. the story ends up being you stopping some random unrelated dragon for no reason. shadowrun myth is fucking stupid because it throws in all that tolkien faggotry. only thing good is the music but it sounds like low quality compressed ass on the snes audio chip.

haven't got around to playing the megadrive game but it can't get much worse than SNES

>> No.2666708

>>2666593
Yeah, this is a big one. You do NOT have to finish the duel arena thing in one go. Just do enough so that you can leave that place, then go get some better equipment and stuff and THEN come back and finish it. You have no idea how many times I had to reload trying to finish the arena because I didn't know that you can come back later to finish it. If you try to beat it without upgrading your equipment then it completely depends on luck.

>Actual advice
-Dont buy every gun, they arent all necessary
-All the cyberware is useful but you dont need it all as soon as you find it.
-Most of the time you wont need Runners, save up nuyen for the last few runs (you'll feel when the game starts wrapping up)
-pick up everything that looks out of place
-Even if something makes sense to you, and you're probably right, try using other things to solve problems. You'll get an extra laugh here and there. Always be curious
-The game has a healing spell (once you find the ingredients and a shaman), and there are several places to sleep, think about what else you might do with a healing item
-Speaking of beds: Your mother worries you're not getting enough sleep, so put her mind to rest and hit the mattress early and often. Your life, and progress, depends on it.

Jake, there's so much more I could tell you right now but I think it's time you find out for yourself

you just have to grind a bit in the junkyard to beef up your stats so you can win in the arena. like another poster mentioned, you shouldn't buy every gun or armor. get the shotgun and whatever the best armor is in the first shop. by the time the best weapon and armor become available in the other shop, you should have plenty of money from cleaning out drake tower and part of the volcano.

the combat is probably the worst part of the game.

There are spots where you can take the easy way out (paying to get out of the junk yard) or take it to the fucking hilt and grind that shit until you drop everyone.

Then there are spots where you feel like a retard because you end up collecting dog bones, mermaid scales, ink, and other dumb shit. You need it all, figuring out what to use it on can be a bit of a pain.

Most street level combat you just end up running through because people pop their stupid heads out the windows and take pot shots at you. Killing everyone that tries to take a shot at you will double the length of the game in no reasonable way.

Once you get the shield spell, you better put everything in magic because you're going to need it. Trust me.

Over all I liked the game a lot, it just has a lot of those old RPG point and click elements that will halt your progress and have you reaching for a game guide.

>The back of the fallen man's jacket heaved and burst, blood splashing the wall and doorway. A pair of impossibly long, rope-tendoned arms flexed grayish-pink in the glare. The thing seemed to pull itself up out of the pavement, through the inert, bloody ruin that had been Riviera. It was two meters tall, stood on two legs, and seemed to be headless. Then it swung slowly to face them, and Case saw that it had a head, but no neck. It was eyeless, the skin gleaming a wet intestinal pink. The mouth, if it was a mouth, was circular, conical, shallow, and lined with a seething growth of hairs or bristles, glittering like black chrome. It kicked the rags of clothing and flesh aside and took a step, the mouth seeming to scan for them as it moved.

This, don't bother with a lot of the small pistols, work on trying to afford the Warhawk pistol or T250 Shotgun, you'll save a lot of time and money by just trying to work up to these guns.

If you feel the little Beretta pistol is too weak and it doesn't do enough against enemies, the Viper Heavy Pistol can be had for just 3000, it does a fair bit more damage, and shoots kind of fast, so it's a pretty decent step up, it can make it easier to step up to better stuff later by making it easier to kill.

I'm not agreeing with him because he's a retard, that's granted because it's true. Magic is inherently fucking retarded and shits on stories and ends up being deus ex machina bullshit. Worse is when it's thrown into scifi. Hard scifi is the most relatable and it's generally better for being responsible for it's own plot and cyberpunk fits with hard scifi perfectly.

>Shadowruns magic/orcs/dwarfs is from nuclear mutations
That actually makes no sense whatsoever. Since that's not how shit works despite what all your marvel/dc training has told you.
Also, it's not though. Magic came from The Awakening which, which was the current end of the lull in magical energies in the universe which happens cyclically. Orks/trolls/elves/dwarves/awakened were 'always here' but took on their 'true forms' due to the magical energies... which makes sense, so yeah. And also dragons because fuck yeah dragons apparently.
