>Goes to Konami twitter
>Konami retweets fans Metal Gear Collection
>Casual fan: HURR DURR METAL GEAR FOR LIFE
>None of the fans pics have MG or MG2SS for MSX

God, I hate casuals.

Is Metal Gear the most viraled series ever?

>> No.2636961

How many people in the US have an MSX? Kojima released MG and MG2 on PS2 as part of MGS3 Subsistence. That's the only physical copy anyone in the US is likely to have.

Yeah fuck those fans for not posting pics of two games that didn't get a proper release outside of Japan until near the end of 2005.

Assuming OP means the Legacy Collection, that actually has both games on it.

Pretty sure OP means their entire Metal Gear collection if he's throwing a fit at them not posting pictures of a damn MSX game. It's still retarded even if they were common because being a fan isn't determined by how much stuff you own, it's how much you genuinely love the series. Someone who owns just the Legacy collection can be just as much of a fan who owns every single release of every single game. It's like claiming someone can't be a fan of Snatcher only because they aren't willing to drop a stupid amount of money to obtain the Sega CD port.

I did assume that by capitalizing collection he did mean one of the compilation discs with the MSX2 versions of those games included. Either way though, getting upset over "casuals" on social media is stupid.

I definitely agree with you there.

But on that note, it would be really nice if Konami would re-release the Sega CD version of Snatcher.

The spirit of OP's post is rooted in /vr/, and yet it is so meant for >>>/v/

Sounds like someone who is too poor to afford the MSX games.

MG1 was utter shit.

MG2 is amazing and probably the best 8 bit game ever made, I prefer it over MGS, which is essentially just a remake.

I remember playing MG2 after slugging through MG and was quite amazed by how much they managed to refine things. MG2 is definitely one of my favourites.

>> No.2637432

I've had the Japanese MSX version for over 10 years, if memory serves me correctly. Never got the sequel, though. I'd like to have it, but I'd rather spend the money on other games.

>> No.2637436

I bet none of them had Metal Gear Acid or Ghost Babel or Snake's Revenge either

If you liked MG2, you oughta play Ghost Babel on the Gameboy Color, it's IMO the best 2D Metal Gear game. It wasn't made by Kojima, but it was made by Fukushima who is equally as important to the MG franchise in my opinion.
