How about a legends thread?

>> No.2633052

I want to fuck Roll Caskett.

Also is it just me or has MML's graphics aged much better than other polygonal games of its time?

>> No.2633056

>>2633052
The game has graphically aged very well, I feel very bad whenever someone makes an thread about PS1 era graphics and it devolves into a jerk off session about the games graphics though.

>>2633027
If you're going to start a thread please at least start with a topic to discuss. What the hell do you want us to talk about concerning MML?

Well how about the japanese version's demo disc for megaman legends 2?

What's the deal! Why did America get some playable portions from the final game while japan got completely unique content?

>> No.2633112

>>2633091
Hold on what's this about? Where can one get this completely unique content?

First name Roll.
Last name Caskett.
When you see me in your hood,
I be saying put the lotion in the basket.

I be where the mega be,
man, if you see my crew then you better flee.
.
Gramps so smart he'll make you dizzy with a so·lil·o·quy. Boys want to get in between my leg-a-cy's.

Different anon but:

First name Roll,
Last name Caskett.
Look me in the eye
and you be getting your ass kicked.

I be where the mega be,
free to be the me which you see,
you best believe if you Roll up to me,
I'll be puttin' you in the ground, G.

Gramps make your head spin with his outrageous verbiage,
next thing you know you'll be wakin' up in the triage.

Seriously, a rap and you didn't use a Roll pun? Was it too obvious?

Actually that was kinda fun, cheesy as it was. Also apologies anon for messing with your flow.

I made a Killer Instinct Rap battle thread once.
Only one person joined in :( , and it was on /v/.

So I had to make a two sentence rap for like 10 characters. It is pretty fun.

Wish I could find the archive so i could shitpost with it again

Also, Pretty good rap btw.

I'd play it again if they fixed the camera. Never tried the 2nd or Tron Bonne game.

The controls even with shoulder strafe feel stiffer than RE's tank controls (speaking as a huge RE fan).

>> No.2634185

>>2634140
Eh, I thought the controls were pretty tight for a pre-OoT 3D action adventure. I also really loved RE's tanks controls since they also gave a sense of challenge and urgency that I can't really find in the controls of most post-RE4 "Survival Horror" games. To each his own I guess.

They only bothered me during the first fight with the pirates. After that, no matter how long it has been, I get used to them after that and it stops bothering me.

However, I can understand people thinking there is no there there in the gameplay itself. The upgrading and RPG elements certainly can feel like a chore with the grind, though I like collecting items for Roll to turn into weapons. And that the lack of vertical can make dungeons with bland corridors, or that combat seems just a shallow circle strafing shooter. I don't disagree with that Super Bunnyhop video.

However, I still adore the game. It makes for a very engaging world to explore and experience, The hub town feels so alive with so much to do, it feels like a real place full of people with their own lives. It is something I never experienced in a video game again until Animal Crossing/Animal Forest and Embric of Wulfhammer's Castle

And the dungeons and reaverbots genuinely scared me as a kid and still feel creepy at times.

If they just took the Megaman name off and turned it into a more Harvest Moon/Animal Crossing type game or a 3D Shadow of Memories like adventure game, I do think it'd probably be a better game. Though it likely wouldn't be anywhere as well known or loved.

>> No.2636532

I played both and really Legends 2 was a huge improvement in a lot of aspects, the town in 1 really didn't draw my attention and barely realized most civilians had quests but I liked the ruins and music.

Why is OP in your name field? You're not OP!

Anyway in japan a demo disc for Rockman dash 2 came with Tron ni Kobun; just like how a demo disc for megaman legends 2 came with the misadventures of tron bonne internationally.

HOWEVER unlike the rest of the world the japanese version's demo disc has completely independent content not seen in the final game. It's so independent the demo disc is called "Rockman DASH 2: Episode 1 ~ Roll-chan Kiki Ippatsu!" while the actual release for rockman dash 2 over there was titled "Rockman DASH 2 - Episode 2: Great Inheritance" making the "demo" a bigger deal.

So what's in it? Four segments like pic related.

The first segment on the menu will take you to this little game tutorial with Roll, where she teaches Rock all about the game. You can also just walk around and explore the town which is pretty fun. Lots of dialogue here and there.

The second segment involves Rock using the claw arm to round up some pigs for Shu. Its got a pretty cute ending.

The third segment are some ruins where you basically just go through a bunch of reaverbots and shoot 'em up. Unique to this demo only.

The final segment has Rock rescuing Roll from Tron. Now here's that independent adventure Capcom was talking about. You've gotta shoot your way through a ton of reaverbots, watch a bunch of cutscenes, and save Roll! this is the highlight of the disc pretty much.

This content was also included in the psp port for rockman dash 2 so grab the iso and ppsspp if you wanna see all of this.

Anyone even remotely excited for the not-legends game that Red Ash is supposed to be?

After the things that happened during MN9's development, fuck no. Comcept is kill even worse than Capcom for me, and I'm still boycotting Capcom until they release Legends 3. Not that hard since Mega Man and Phoenix Wright are the only things they make that I care about.

I don't think that's fair. It's all in the marketing. If they called it Legends 3D and released it when 3DS had a draught and advertised it as a cool Zeldaesque action-adventure game it is it'd probably gain traction. Obviously advertising it as a revival of some old subseries not many people played to begin with was fucking retarded.
