Not gold. Gold Armor. Pretty damn rare back in the day when it occurred (around 2006-2007, I can't remember exactly, just that it was around graduation for me. A BR friend emailed me the original news article then, but I can only find a poorly formatted goreblog post that references the original content.)

The armor was available only from a quest for levels 80 and above, which was not an easy task on the old battle system, even for a large group. Maybe Warlocks or Demons dropped the armor back then also, but nobody could hunt those en masse like today. Still, the armor was only worth about 100-200k depending on the server. Still not enough to warrant strangling, molesting, cutting through his torso, and shoving his body into the attic.

I got a few shitty security tips in the 4th section of the OPs pastie although they're not really directed at acc trading... The most important thing for you to take note of is the Recovery Key. Even if you were given a working recovery key you're still gonna want to go ahead and order a new one asap because that's a magic code that can 100% lock you out if you happen to have a bad seller. Start using two factor auth~ so you aren't hacked easily. Stop doing whatever got your old acc hacked twice in 2008.

Not in this game. About the only time they perform any restores/rollbacks are when issues are due to severe technical faults on the game makers end. On the bright side it's usually only people with personal grudges that will completely destroy characters and get the accounts deleted. Most hackers just go in and strip out all the items as it's in their best interests to let people who have, and don't fix, a gaping security hole get back on their feet so they can go in and take more stuff rofl.

Tibia is a game about exploring and grinding. It's free2play but the most content is behind a paywall, which is recommended. The gameplay is rather simpel, just move with the arrow keys, click on stuff to attack and keybind stuff to your Fkeys.
Quests/missions are gained by talking to npc's and going places. Not everything is as clear so if you like puzzles you are in the right place.
All in all just don't expect any fancy combat

I used to play Libera since 2002 with 5 RL friends, but after 2009 they all quit, and so did I, but I still login from time to time to check on buddies I made throughout the years.

What is cip's current stance on botting?
For example last time I was around there was a lot of drama around Ocera serving as a private world to a Brothers of Peace guild that had like 200 lvl 300 botted characters. Wiki says most of them have been deleted.

In practice are they actually enforcing bot detection / deletion or is it just the usual "let's ban 1% of bots just so they can't say we're doing nothing".

Well, is your magic level good? If it's not then you pretty much have to SD and you don't really need an EK to SD anything that gives good exp. Maybe elder wyrms or something. If you're SDing it's probably better to just go frost dragons solo then oramond, you can get to 100 pretty quick just doing that though you need to have the $$$.

Depending on how much the EK is willing to waste, you could do 4+ grim pulls in drefia and GFB/thunder those. Maybe exp share with MS who can beam and wave for faster kills. Really, your magic level is the limiting factor.

Exactly. My main experience with pathfinding is making guard dogs run around my bases in C&C. I just see what I see and apply it to what I know. I see a bot get stuck. It chases after anything that walks on screen. Once it's moved further through the cave due to chasing shit it continues along it's path. I'm not even a good bot hunter, I just throw shit at them and see what works; the best hunters follow the bot forums and know more weaknesses.

Some fun with a chicken bot here. It walked over parcels but didn't attack anything other than chickens. How could I not make a gauntlet?

It's not hard to spot bot, when it runs on exactly same path every time, doesn't talk and is usually overleveled for spot.
If you ever programmed, it's pretty similiar. That's why you can/could block bots with various items, as 'programing' something like defining you are stuck because energy fields are around you, would take longer than it's worth botter's time. There is also thing of whether bot programs can inject or scan data/packages good enough to get list of everything around you and evne further. I wouldn't be surprised, seeing how far more complex games were hacked.

In the end, it depends on whether you want to eventually go in teamhunts or not (for a change of pace or whatever). Sorcerers are locked into solo most of the time (although 4-vocation parties are becoming more popular), but their solo play is the best, and they have the highest variety of instant damage spells

sorc is still more useful than paladin and often finds a spot in teams tho knight and druid are a must (unless for some weird reason you want to heal your knight with UH but that's highly unfeasible thing to do)

I don't look at my report list too often but when I do they're not typically banned before they fall off of the list due to age (it only tracks reports up to one month old).

It feels like a placebo chill pill but it doesn't hurt to try. It's supposedly automated but who knows.

I didn't notice when any of them got banned, I was rifling through old screenies and only just looked them up. I'm not sure if they even have a ban wave, just a kill count for the last month.
