I've tried buying used N64 controllers before, but they always have shitty joysticks. Can anyone recommend any good third party N64 controllers that are still being sold?

>> No.2595893

Hori but you can also replace the N64 joysticks pretty easily (costs like $15 though)

Hori Mini's.

Buy them direct from Japan. Expensive, but really nice build quality, and Japan takes care of their shit.

Unlike North America, who apparently raped every single N64 controller.

I actually don't let my friends play mario party or smash bros with my hori's.

Best option is the v3 N64 sticks from the German guy.

You can stop pretending like you have any idea what you're talking about. Not only do they have eBay and Amazon in Japan, but they also have Yahoo! Auctions.

None of that shit is popular over there compared to their native real auctions.
Ebay is used to sell world wide though.

But you can go and head on back to /v/ kiddo.

No, you're retarded. You specifically said they had NOTHING like eBay over there and if an online website where people auction things isn't like eBay, then I don't know what is.

I didn't say "they had NOTHING like eBay" you fucking dumb brat.

I said LACK of a thing like ebay. They actually have real auctions in Japan instead of the price setting bullshit in America with free to list BiNs turning ebay into a retail store instead of an auction site.

No, you said of "something like ebay". Yahoo! Auctions is exactly like eBay in the sense that it's an online website where people auction things. It even has resellers that make a living off of secondhand games, if that helps you understand more.

ebay japan did shut down a few years ago. They have other auction sites. Yahoo is their most popular one. I mean they don't have ebay but have services equivalent. You can always just order from ebay outside of japan. I mean technically he's right but he's still a dumb cunt for not realizing there are equivalent options.

This. I have four and they are incredible. The only difference is the physical feel of the actual stick. They perform as well as, if not better than, the original sticks.

You need to buy the actual replacement stick (GCN style, eBay or Amazon) AND his v3 replacement pcb/pots.

Install is easy, requires opening the replacement stick with a hobby knife and three (optional but recommended) solder points for recalibration/extender range mode.

When exporting the N64, Nintendo elected to NOT put mechanical grease in the analog stick like they did in Japan, thus they have much shorter lifespans in the west.
This also turned a bad analog stick into a terrible analog stick.

That's because the market for the most part is free.
Look at any hobby in America that didn't get raped by ebay yet. Generally have rating scales in place etc.
That and factor in that unless it's a rare item or some large lot, who in America is gonna buy something not that nice looking?

I have the opposite problem with one controller. The stick is in nearly perfect condition, but it has this problem where the R button is permanently locked down. Not the button itself, mind you, but the circuitry is wonky. I need to find a cheap, junker controller and transplant my working stick into it.
