No idea if this will be useful to anyone, but I ripped all the N64 box art from TheCoverProject.net and cropped them to just the 'spine'.

I intend to print them on some glossy label paper and stick them to the top/side of my N64 carts so I can see wtf they are when they're on my shelf.

Example is posted. Some need a bit of manual touching because the box art is all scans - I automated the process so it's not perfect.

Seems like a waste of paper. Just do what I did and use a sharpie.

It does look horrible. I like OP's idea better. Custom labels and boxes are neat.

Universal Game cases are the way to go if you really want your games to look the most aesthetic.

It normalizes the size of the carts. Provides a big easily readable end label. They protect the games. They have a neat little blurb on the back very similar to original boxes, and they make it so your shelves can all be uniform. Trying to get NES, SNES, N64, and Genesis carts to look nice on a shelf outside of boxes is hard as shit.

I don't regret my decision to get UGC. I think they're absolutely great and they make my shelf look way more neat, tidy and organized and thats exactly what I want now that I'm an adult.

I don't see the big deal. Aesthetics are based on personal preference anyway, and some people just do not care about them.

Would it make sense to just deconstruct my original boxes and sort of use these plastic cases to hold my games instead? I really like my og boxes but a recent basement flood kinda makes me wanna store them away

I used to do something similar when I was a kid with VHS cases. Worked pretty well.

I've heard of these universal game cases, they might be the best solution for you.

Now that I've got all the N64 boxes downloaded, there shouldn't be much of a limit on what I can do with the boxes. I'll try and make my program capable of converting to other form factors (i.e., crop/scale the boxes to fit universal game cases, extract arbitrary faces of the box, etc).
