Wut.

I check it probably once a day, and there is always at least a couple of good threads to peruse; I especially enjoyed the recent Secret of Mana thread (mostly because I fucking love that game, but still) and the fact that point-and-click threads are a constant thing is awesome.

Methinks you just came back at the wrong time, or just have different tastes.

It's pretty silly to compare accents as equivalents. The connotations of a southern accent are very different to the connotations of Osakans. A southern, country bumpkin accent is closer to something like Akita-ben, a northern rural type dialect.

With the heavy focus on Osakan comedians over the last few decades, I'd honestly be more inclined to translate it as fucking British than as Southern. Australian at a stretch.

Yeah, which means they considered the overall quality solid enough to use them even in an official release since the overall quality matters more than the occasional mistake amongst over a hundred translated episodes.

Considering how commonplace mistranslations and re-translations are even in big-name releases translated by professional translators who do it full-time for products people actually pay for, there would be riots on the streets if everything translation-related triggered people as hard as this particular show seems to do.

>> No.2614880

>>2614734
I think it's mainly the over-reliance on localisation, when in reality 99% of people watching are going to get references like "tsundere".

Plenty of shitty subs are criticised for the same thing, the thing is that games usually get to hide their poor quality translations behind a terrible dub.

Let's take something like "Shimoneta", airing this season. On /a/, pretty much everyone was up in arms after the first episode because of how awful the subs were, you've got shit like "cock" translated to "big dingleberries!". But given everyone agreed, the amount of complaining pretty much died down after the second episode, with just the occasional post pointing out and laughing at particularly terrible lines.

Here, it's the opposite. We have a ton of SA dick suckers and a retarded janitor who basically make excuses for every error because they're terrified that word might make it back to SA and they'll stop feeding us these scraps. When you artificially silence discontent, the undercurrent spreads through the people and remains for far longer.

I bet it's either gonna be Sonic 2 or Sonic CD, though I think the latter would be more likely. Japan seems to really hate Sonic 2 for some reason. Either would be good IMO but Sonic CD would be interesting, seeing as Arino has only ever challenged a single Sega CD game, which was Mansion of Hidden Souls in the 16th season, and the only Sonic game he's challenged was the first game in Season 9.

is there a complete torrent? something that has episodes like SOS and clocktower included without being segments only or shitty gaijin dubs? where is the full gccx torrent with everything up to date?

not to criticize too much, but with all the hate and cum-slinging that goes on between subbing groups, neither of you have your shit together or provide proper links and info for your subs. Not to mention some people here and there have legit gripes and constructive criticism and you fucking weebs act like you're doing some kind of holy charity.

There's not a lot left in big cities, so you'd have to go a bit more rural.

Remember when they started to sub a lot of requested episodes after Clover started looking like they coming back. 4 other groups.

Nihon-TV, Clover, LC. and VR. Nihon did a lot of the early episodes but people hated them due to their translation style. Clover did Ghouls n' Ghosts which is one of the greatest episodes in the franchise at a time when SA was just fucking around translating episodes they wanted and not what people were requesting, so it basically forced them to get back on track (A good thing). LC is a tumblr based group that did some episodes from the 17th season, and VR was a group from here that only managed to complete one episode before everyone got a terminal case of fractured ass from an autist who supplied the raw and they got absorbed into SA's group.

That's their style, it's meant for actual weeaboos. SA is on the opposite end of the spectrum where they localize everything to the point they've taken liberties with the translation. See the 'mad stacks' incident)
