Noticed there wasn't a Thief topic, autistic taffer here fixing that problem. Feel free to talk about any official/fan missions or characters or Thief stuff.

Also I've heard things about a Windows 9x Thief theme that came with Gold and I'm kind of interested to see if there's any information on it or anything.

Thief is just too easy without the ultimate difficulty mod. The game is touted as the best stealth game ever, but it has all the troops of bad stealth games (guards with 3 foot vision that forget you ever existed if they spot you and lose you).

Luckily ultimate difficulty fixes all of that. The only problem I have with it is you can't really play on the hardest difficulty because sometimes you just have to kill a guy, and that makes it so you don't get the bonus objectives.

The hammer mission? I'm still working on it, but progress is slow because I'm trying to put a lot of detail in every area. It's a big temple with lots of small, detailed rooms, rather than large sparse areas. I have a title though, and even an idea for a campaign.

Sitting down to play through the series proper, installed TGtool, now "run forward" and "walk forward" cancel each other out. Previously I had walking in a traditional wasd configuration, with speed modifier on shift and run forward on ctrl, and both could work as a modifier on top of wasd inputs.
Can I change back just that one thing? What's your basic movement layout?

There are a few other zombie missions too. You can sneak by them like you can humans. Thief 2 has no (well, 4) zombies. 2 are avoidable and 2 are a secret... Might be more your speed.

But I recommend pushing through Thief 1 anyway. It complements Thief 2 well, so it's worth it.
