So we've got a shitty ports thread. How about we flip that around and name the best ports of your favorite games? I'll start.

The SNES port also deserves a mention, it's not arcade perfect, but it's pretty good for a SNES.

Strider is surprising for a relatively early genesis game, it looked, sounded and played damn close to the CPS original, one of the best CPS-1 ports on 16-bits consoles.

Also great is the genesis port of Ghouls 'n Ghosts, the graphics aren't as good but the gameplay is very very faithful to the arcade with almost no slowdowns, the music is also good. All of this in a tiny 4-megabits cart released in 1989.

Just a shame that Sega didn't port SF2.

Made with a real System 16 board.

Best thing Sega did last decade.

SNES ports of Mortal Kombat II and Mortal Kombat 3 are solid and underrated. Series got a bad rap for the first abomination of a port, I guess.

I did try the saturn version and i remember the slowdowns being there.

Saint Dragon got a really nice Amiga port (unlike many other arcade games).

Road Wars *is* an arcade game. They literally used Amiga hardware in the arcade cabinet. So they couldn't fuck up the floppy disk version too bad at least...

No that's the Amiga port:

Good graphics, scrolling, music, sound fx, and everything else. Fits on one floppy too, and with very fast loading.

The Amiga port of Dragon Breed was also pretty decent, but not as good as Saint Dragon. One of the annoying things is you have to choose between in-game music or sound fx. Maybe the colors could have been better too. But it was designed to run on even old Amiga 1000, and probably just used same graphics as Atari ST port. Anyway, the game plays well, and that's the most important thing.

Yes, arcade is great because of 4-players, and The Hyperstone Heist is also pretty great on its own, but TMNT IV: Turtles in Time for SNES remains my favorite version.

I've never compared it side by side with the original, but Fatal Fury on the Genesis was loads of fun. Art of Fighting was pretty good too though my memory notes it as being not as close looking to the original as FF was.

The SNES/MD SNK ports are generally looked down nowdays, since anyone can emulate these games on MAME, but yeah I also think these ports were pretty good.

I played the shit out of FF2/Special on SNES.

GBA version removes (most) slowdown, but only in Arrange Mode
