Remember when this was a new idea?

(Yes the Sega CD had a RAM cart but it could still save on its own)

How many games did you play on the PS1 before you had to buy one? Wha was the game that made you buy one?

Won mine in a Movie World raffle. Came with two.

There's no way you were playing any game without one.

I didn't get one for a while.

I played Twisted Metal, Rayman, Gex and Crash Bandicoot, but when I got Tekken 2, had to get a memory card.

My parents werent retarded and bought one with the Playstation for me.

I ended up buying another one so I could have my own saves that my brothers wouldn't haphazardly delete.

>tfw I knocked out my older brothers tooth when I found out he erased my file in FFT that had everyone at level 99 and had Zodiac on like 6 people and Ramza only had to master 3 more classes.

Thought they were really cool when they came out. Now they're an annoyance.

it took me a while to get one of these being a kid with no pocket money/job. actually completed the whole of spyro 2 without one. the 3rd time i reached winter tundra and had somebody come and turn the playstation off, was when i realized i needed this. same story with mgs2. completed the whole of it without saving, and only after completeing it did i buy a memory card.

Well I bought my PS1 bundled with Wipeout 3 and a card, so I was good to go right from the start.

>tfw try to finish crash bandicoot 2 as a kid with no memory card

it was fucking surreal when we got our first memory card and didn't have to play the whole game all over again just to be able to play those last levels and finally finish the game

I was a poorfag who only got to rent games. I was occasionally able to rent a PS1 from the rental store, and I always rented FF7 with it. I loved the FF games and I had no idea how I hadn't even see FF4, 5, and 6, but I assumed they were all on the PS1 and our store didn't have them. Maybe they were on gameboy, who knows.

I have played the beginning of that game so many times, but the furthest I got on those rentals was to Corel. When we finally got a PS1 years later, we still didn't have a memory card because I guess my parents thought it worked like SNES, but the first time I had money after that I bought FF7 and a memory card

Populous 3 on the PSX. Enough said. 15 blocks. And don't you DARE ask me to mention the time it took to save it.

Eight blocks is nothing, Kings Field took all 16.
