as long as you go in knowing that the game falls apart in disc 2 and you will be left feeling the rpg equivilent of blue balls, then yes

You hardly play at all. Most of the game is just long drawn out scenes of exposition. It's an interesting game, but if I wanted to read that much I'd get a book.

I played it when it came out, and loved every minute of it.

Music is good (loved Tower of Babel). Story is God (one of the few games I played for story alone). Gameplay is shit (damn that battle system sucked).

It's a great JRPG with a fun battle system, fantastic music, and a lengthy 2deep4u story. Go for it. Be sure to use the gameshark code 300B21D6 0001, which speeds up the text, saving you time and frustration (the default speed is slow). There's also a undub version out there that restores the Japanese voices, which some people find preferable.

The game has flaws, but it's one of my favorite JRPGs and I consider it a near masterpiece.
