What is a fairly mild DOS point and click adventure game that you would recommend? Not like corny adventure or horror but more like fantasy or crime based. I would like to play something like Myst but I only have limited internet

Why not play Myst then? I don't imagine it's so big you can't download it.

If you're okay with very early windows (3.14 / 95), The Journeyman Project Turbo is one of my favorite games.

Lost Eden, perhaps?

Myst is only around 200 megs, I would download files that size on a 14.4 modem back in the day. Any other graphical adventure you find is going to be at least around that size.

This is my problem too.
Good luck to you when you decide to upgrade to current gen consoles, I had to bring my ps4 to my mom's house to update everything and updates are huge now.
Now's a great time to tackle your retro backlog though.
I'm about to play myst myself once I bring my vita somewhere with WiFi to download the fucking thing.
