Is there such a thing as a good compact junior rollercoaster? Somehow, I always end up letting them run across the whole park to raise the excitement. Which is fine I guess, since they are so unobtrusive. I was just wondering if there are other, more compact ways to build them.

Depends on what you mean by good. You can get really great value out of a small junior coaster since they're quite cheap to build but you won't get insane E values out of a small coaster. Personally I'm also vrey fond of their aesthetics so I build them quite frequently.

Okay, new personal record for today. Still needs major fine-tuning but the main idea appears to work.

Not sure what's up with the difference in ratings, both are exactly mirrored aside from the parts through the loops where they cross each other. They also don't always run in sync, blue occasionally lags behind a bit (like half a tile).

>> No.2457224

I remember probably a year or two ago now, somebody posted an on ride video from a roller coaster I really liked the look of but I can't remember what the name of it was and I forgot to fave it.

It was in the central united states and I'd describe it as a "fast and furious" wooden rollercoaster with overbanked turns. I don't particually remember anything in the way of it going over hills fast, it was mostly charging around sweeping corners while almost at a 90 degree angle.

Anybody know which one I mean?

nedesigns.com/topic/21463/rct2-trainer-and-utility-list/

>What is this?

Well dear anon, this is a collection of pretty much every rct2 trainer and utility that was around in 2010

>Why the fuck should I care when 8cars is all I need?

In this zip is the RCT ReLiAbLe patch, which STOPS HACKED RIDES FROM BREAKING DOWN EVERY 2 MINUTES.

>Holy fuck, shnupz! This is fucking perfect!

Well dear anons, you need to run the "patch" every time you load up RCT2, it is not permanent. Once it is loaded up hacked rides will break down at the same rate as regular rides.

Can the OP of the next thread upload just the reliable trainer/patch to mediafire or something and put it in the OP copypasta from now on? I've seen multiple people in this small thread alone asking about why hacked rides are breaking down so often for them. Also make sure to include it in the canyon collab download so casual plebs can see the hacked rides in motion.

Canada's Wonderland has the most rollercoasters in any North American park, including Leviathan where you can see most of Toronto at the top of the lift hill and (my favourite) Vortex, the fastest suspended coaster in the world. While it's got a good variety of coasters, with the exception of the hyper twisters they're not as intense as the other coasters you'll find around NA.

Alton Towers is fantastic -- you should definitely go at some point. There are significantly fewer rides so the queue times will be longer on average, but the waits are definitely worth it. The Smiler felt like I was upsidedown more than right-side up, and was so intense that after getting off it my (and my friends') eyes couldn't focus properly for at least a half minute after. Oblivion is also a must-ride at the park if you're a sucker for intensity - it'll feel like your eyelids are being forcibly peeled back on some of the inversions.
Plus most of the rides in Alton Towers still run while it's raining, so the cars will be running faster whenever that happens. I didn't get to go on The Smiler in the rain, but going on a faster-than-normal Oblivion back-to-back 3-4 times was a blast.

Save up and travel, it's worth every loonie if you love coasters.

How do I not make this look ugly, and how do i get the intensity down a bit and the excitement up?

I'm really, really bad at coasters.

>> No.2459060

>>2459053
It's probably going too fast up into that first dip + hill, since there's an 8 unit difference; it should probably, imo, since I'm all about air-time, be about a 5-2 unit difference in height, since that means it'll hit that curve slower.

banks are good, but they don't ELIMINATE g's, just loosen them.

>> No.2459070

First of all, you're kinda rich dude.

How's the stats and what do you charge for each ride? That looks like it should make a decent amount each month.

>> No.2461195

>>2461179
for every ride in rct you can charge up to the excitement rating they have in money. eg 7.35 excitement would be $7.30 (always round down with pricing). For some rides the price scaled with intensity, not excitement, so you can charge a fuckton (I know launched freefall is one of them).

anyway anon best way to make money is to make sure you are charging enough for the ride tickets, use minimal staff by setting their patrol areas instead of just spamming handymen, charge upwards of $7 for umbrellas, not have shit ratings on your coaster and make sure there is a ride for everybody (guests have an intensity and nausea preference when they enter the park, which raises as they go on scarier rides and build up courage/get used to intense rides. some start out with spiral slide level preference while some enter the park wanting an slc)

Just make the Giga slightly slower, you don't need it to go att ludicrous speed to get good stats.

You could probably charge at least 5 for each coaster, 10 for the giga unless they're getting old. Experiment with pricing to maximize it if you feel like you're not earning enough.

I've solved the problem now (kind of) by saving the design with just one station, then manually adding the others afterwards. Seems like the game generally doesn't like multiple stations on saved track designs too much, and even less when synced.

>>2463367
Yep, for the stat calculations it doesn't seem to matter if a ride has several parts/stations, so your coaster is treated like a single track with no less than 48 drops. Make everything shorter and you should be fine.

I actually did make a custom scenario called Ouchwitz.

The story was that some Jewish bankers hired you to make a concentration camp into a tasteful memorial for the six trillion, but then they lumbered you with a massive loan so you decide to build an amusement park instead to piss them off.

I didn't expand too far on the camp, sadly. Just a few watchtowers, two mass grave trenches, three "Judengasse" buildings, two "starvation huts" (Which was just a glass box) and a big monolithic prison building.

There was also a "White Guilt machine" at the entrance of the park, a ATM surrounded by scenery to make it look like a bank, and a building outside of the park called the Factory of Death.
