It's that time of the week /vr/, who else went game hunting today? It was beautiful in my neck of the woods so I hit a bunch of garage sales today and did pretty well. Pic of my haul in the next post.

What did you pick up /vr/?

All of the NES games came with cases:
The Legend of Zelda II: $4
Duck Tales: $4
Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers: $4
Strider (with manual): $4
Kirby's Adventure (with manual): $4

PS2 Multitap: $2

PS2 DDR Dance Pad (no game): Free

These NES games are proof that it pays to ask people if they have any games they'd like to sell. The woman I bought them from didn't have any video games out but when I asked, she said she still plays her NES but only the Mario games and the first Zelda. She was happy to sell me these 5 games for just $20, so always ask because you just never know!

You mean the plastic sleeves? Or boxes? In any case, good deal on Chip & Dale. Kirby, too; I'm surprised that game doesn't fetch a higher price on ebay.

Got an Everdrive MDv3 because i'm going to wait for the market to pop while I pick up the predicted ps2 and gamecube expected expensive titles. Also 2 GN6 hyperkin genesis controllers, which work great actually.

Picked these up from one of the local retro stores (There's like 2 really good ones near me, somehow) for $20. Not bad, and I finally got to test and finish fixing my Dreamcast.

It boots retail games now, I just have to figure out if it'll boot CD-Rs...

Said store also had a disc-only copy of Mars Matrix for $43, which, while I hate loose games, is a fuck of a steal honestly.

OP here, another free acquisition today, this one a total surprise being that I wasn't at a tag sale of any sort. I was at a friend's house, bragging about my 5 new NES games, and his face lit up and he ran down to his basement and brought up pic related, a Mattel Electronics Aquarius. He said he'll never use it so he gave it to me free of charge. I've never even heard of the Aquarius before today plus the games are still in their boxes complete with keyboard and controller overlays specific to each game. Only problem is I'm not sure I have everything I need to actually hook it up to one of my TVs, of which I have a 16:9 flat screen, 4:3 flat screen and a CRT.

The games are:

Nightstalker
Utopia
Tron Deadly Discs
Biorhythms
And a random copy of Frogger for the 2600

>>2454079

By cases I mean the sleeves.

Anyone recognize this wire? I'm hoping there is some sort of older TV this will plug right into but based on the instructions I think I'm missing an "Antenna Switch Box" that this needs to plug into. The box in the background here isn't the right one, it has coaxial on one side and VHF/UHF antenna terminals on the other.

>> No.2454732

>>2454694

After doing some research online it seems to be RF, so I think I can just buy an antenna switch box for an Atari 2600 and it'll work. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

It bothers me that you set up this picture with the intention of focusing on the cable to show people in greater detail what you were referring to, noticed the picture did more to show off your dirty carpet than anything, and still decided to post it as if it served some kind of point.

THIS! I can't tell you how many times I've come across great deals just by asking people if they have any video games they'd like to sell. You'd be surprised how many people out there don't realize their dusty old Nintendo games are worth a bit of cash.

Nice find. Does anyone else enjoy it when the box is kind of beat up like that? I think it adds a lot of character to it. Sure I don't prefer it over a mint box, but I still enjoy it for what it is. I guess it's like patina on an antique.

Ok, all of this arrived yesterday in the mail, no Joke.

A rare beta of "the wild swans" anime movie from TOEI dubbed in spanish

An even rarer beta of Space Monster Dogora dubbed in Spanish

A VHS of Chip & Dale cartoons in spanish

Now the video games

Ninja Gaiden III, sure it has a torn label, but it was $10 USD for the game and $4 shipped form a pal in mexico, cause the game now hits around $50 loose on Ebay.

A New copy of Kickle Cubicle for the NES (i have my old one for trade on the Buy/Sell/Trade thread) that i bought for $11 USD.

Also Kabuki Quantum Fighter for $8 USD (Pal version, but plays the same as an NTSC copy on an US NES, same as Kickle Cubicle)

Ninja Gaiden III is proof that it's rarity rather than quality that drives up prices, because lord knows it's not a good game compared to the first two.

Aww yeah. my package came today. Get ready for a NESplosion, all. Found this retro store's website that, while they generally charged ebay prices for popular titles, they had bargains (1 to 4 dollars each) on obscure games. This all came to just short of $61. KInda got screwed on shipping which was another $22, BUT....

Without any warning they went ahead and packed the games inside this NES carrying case for free, and I KNOW those things can go for 20 bucks and up, so I reckon that made up for it. Aside from a couple games with crap labels (Yo Noid and Low G Man specifically) I am very pleased with this purchase.
