I want to buy this but I'm not sure if it will work on my North American Sega Genesis.

It should work if it fits in the cartridge slot.

>> No.2448321

I think I will take the chance.

Also, anyone know how long it took them to get their flashcart (Everdrive MD) on the east coast of the US? Just got my shipping notice.

Thank you! I love the damn thing. I legit used to use it as a portable CD player back in the day for fun despite its size.

When I ordered mine, it took about 2 weeks to the West Coast.

Why are SNES/Genesis flash carts typically so expensive?

don't buy them from stone age gamer unless you want the package and faster shipping.

support the developer directly, and they are much cheaper.

They are hand built and a niche item.

Thanks for the pic I guess. You lucky SOB.

make sure it has the reset on the top. I bought an official 2.2 from a reseller recently, thinking the lack of the master system button wouldn't be a big deal. "Guess I can't pause, huhuhuhuh!"
Turns out you use that button to go to the item select in certain games, including the Alex Kidd and Wonder Boy games. FML.

Thanks I've had op PIC for about a year now and had no idea what that button did!

More easy buying a used wii o even that raspberry pi to run games

>> No.2450439

>>2449058
Because they do a lot. A Genesis flash cart that holds a single game and runs 90% of all games might cost $5 to make. Add a loader and SD and the price goes up. Add mapper support the price goes up. Add SRAM the price goes up.

>> No.2450702

>>2449058
the SD2SNES in particular is expensive because it has an FPGA chip to emulate custom processors used in certain titles (e.g. SuperFX)

you can get a super everdrive for like $60-80. Most flash carts are not expensive at all.

>> No.2450709

>>2450062
most people posting on retro forums dont want to play fucking emulators, they want to play on real hardware

>> No.2450770

>>2450709
Don't be so quick to suggest that.

I've got an NES, SNES, and N64 sitting in my closet but I'm far more inclined to play an emulated version through my laptop.

>> No.2450795

>>2450709
>>2450770
I play emulators on a modded Xbox, but I think if I had flashcarts I would use them, as otherwise the consoles just kind of sit there.

>> No.2450847

>>2449425
He meant the pause button, not reset. If the flashcart doesn't have the Master System pause button you can't pause MS games and some games are outright crippled because that button brings up an important menu.

>> No.2451591

>>2448584
Probably not, mostly due to the fact that the Genesis is not as popular as say the Super Nintendo or NES. The everdrives are also made by a guy in his spare time in his tool shed, so unless he somehow suddenly employees a hoard of chinese sweat-shop workers, don't expect the price to go down anytime soon

>> No.2452342

>>2450770
You are correct. Most people posting are porrfag kids.
