Eh, pretty much none of them, actually. I didn't have a hard time enjoying much anything on a console, and if I didn't like, the reason why was pretty obvious (absolutely hated sports games, which Ma's dickhead boyfriend got for himself and my brothers).

Never had one.
Because I always clearly said which game currently excited me, when I got one it was always one I wanted. I can only remember loving every one, Donkey Kong for the GB, Mickey and Miinies Great Circus Mystery, Starfox64, Yoshi's Island, Yoshi's Story...
Some games that are not that great I bought myself, but the big ones for birthday or Christmas were always good.

Christmas '01 or '02 I opened up Sega Bass Fishing for the DC. I put on a happy face even tho I was pretty pissed. A fishing video game? Never mind that I enjoyed real fishing but a videogame of it must really suck!

Mfw it's actually really fucking fun! I have sold(regrettably) a majority of my DC games since then but still have my copy of Bass Fishing.

Nah, I'm with him. I find fighters completely pointless without people to play with. They're one of the best genres ever in multiplayer, but one of the absolute worst in single player. And actually find I get worse if I spend too much time fighting it AI.


On topic, I don't think my parents ever got me a game I didn't like. The closest would be the Sonic 1 that came packed in with my Genesis, but I also got Ecco and Humans shortly after so I didn't care and never felt the need to pretend to play it.

My mother heard about Myst and Riven from my older cousin who loved the game, she heard it was all about thinking an puzzles and that sort of thing. She got Riven for me on the PSX and I couldn't figure out anything. She was so sure it was going to be something I loved though, so I told her I really liked playing it.

She'd ask about what went on in it, and eventually I started having to make stuff up because I didn't get very far in it. Almost 10 years later she was repeating what I had told her back then at a family gathering when my cousin kept telling her none of that stuff ever happened in the game.

I thought it was just me...

I owned this game and it was pretty good.

The main problem is the fight (you push button like a crazy guy to kill ennemis with your sword and if you touch them, you're fuck).

But there was a lot of variety through the levels (like the stage with puzzles like soukoban or the flight with the dragon). The story was not bad also, with lots of cutscenes.
