Not that guy, but modchips are primarily designed to bypass region locks, but not all of them were designed to play burnt disks. The ones that do however, are just a secondary feature - an afterthought or a coincidence.

I'm finally getting around to fixing my PSX laser and need these two things.

Plus, I'm certain the new micro card will be supported way longer than the white. Any issues that you have with the white will probably get to be unsolvable.

No model 2s came with 20pin drives. Not even all model 1s came with 20pin drives either.

And the difference is more than just the ribbon type, 21pin drives expect some extra signals which Rhea does not send. So they are incompatible in every way.

There is a 21pin sd loader planned, but it won't be Rhea.
