Not really. You can't use trainers, there's still features lacking, there's major slowdowns in big parks and it's not completed so there's always the risk of unexpected crashes. I only use it because my original installation is fubar.

You should probably calm down, anon. OpenRCT2 has made great progress recently but it's still far from finished. It slows down to glacial speeds at high resolutions or on large or complex parks, plus there are still several bugs that need to be ironed out.

What a coincidence, I just did that scenario tonight. I haven't played the game in 8 years, I think I did ok considering. Tomorrow I'm going to come back to it and put big coasters in. I mainly wanted to just win the objective tonight.

I'm the one who posted a couple nights ago, I found some of my backup files but I'm disappointed that I didn't find as much as I thought I had. I guess that settles it. What's lost is lost, time for new memories.

NE Designs isn't a very big community because this type of thing is just inaccessible for so many people. (That, and the game is old as fuck).

They literally spend YEARS making parks. The criticism they give each other's creations is autistic sometimes. There's a lot of condescension.

But mainly, the effort it takes to get recognized is extreme. It takes forever just to get one stupid little building to look good. People sperg out if your coasters aren't realistic and every support isn't calculated just right. It takes hours upon hours to get something that might not be guaranteed to be accepted, and if it is, you've done it for a handful of active people.

Finally back to having a computer that I can play RCT on, and I've almost finished up the Canyon Collab starting area and section 4. I've got some pics to upload. Probably going to remove some of the trees and stuff that are at the bottom of the canyon by default, as it is a bit built up there.

First, the entrance area, tentatively called Los Canon because I can't think of a really good name for a southwest town. Any suggestions on that front are appreciated. It has a go-cart ride, ferris wheel, and a vintage car ride, along with an information/bathroom building, cafeteria, and gift shop.

Weird. I remember being able to have both when I was a kid. Was this introduced in RCT2 as a balance mechanic or something?

I just dug up the files I downloaded in like 2010. Might goof around for a while to see if it's as fun as I remember.

If memory serves the game wasn't as thrilling for me as it was during my childhood. Plop down some coasters and AFK until your park wins. Does OpenRCT/the other downloads in the OP add a whole lot?

>wouldn't you want the opposite ideally?
Ideally yes you want to keep it low, but in some way intensity is coupled to exitement and it's hard to get a coaster that has low intensity and high exitement.
As long as the intesity isn't way higher than excitement and under 10 it will be fine. However there are scenarios where guests prefer mild rides and scenarios where guests prefer intense rides.

Hey guys, so

I'm in a statistics class, and for a final project, I decided to do a chi-squared comparison on various statistics of both a: real life coasters compared to RCT recreations (throughput, income, etc.), and statistics of park recreations themselves vs the actual things.

to that end, does anyone have any super-accurate, or even just pretty damn but not necessarily super-accurate recreations of various amusement parks? (because let's be honest, the six flags ones are both shit and outdated). Or know a website where I could find them?

Many thanks

Anyway, you probably could all gather that RCT2 is pretty shit at actually simulating/recreating rides? how shit?

I got chi-squared values off the charts. I'm talking in the hundreds. p = 1, which in this case is bad.

The only thing RCT2 is good at simulating, strangely, is G forces, with p = about 0.09. Not perfect, but a lot better than the other things (everything but speed was p = 1, speed was p = 0. 50005 ish)

The train is "moving to end of the station" despite being nowhere near a station. Its some kind of bug with one of the launch modes afaik, i'm not sure how to emulate it.

guest get off at one station, get on at another.
it allows for faster loading, as the guests don't have to wait for the first group to get off before they can get on

>> No.2438391

It's so that one station is dedicated for dumping peeps and the car can chill there while waiting for the first station to finish loading them and send them on their way.
It's more efficient.

this, and also i think it effects block breaks not sure tho

also, thoughts on the coaster itself, station aside?

stations count as a block brake run

if you want standard three-train operation and have an unloading station, there's no reason to put a block run before it.

You can also do neat things like have the cars unload at the bottom of a hill and have the empty carts take a lift hill back up to the entrance.
Works really nicely for water rides.

Cutbacks are better than overbanks.
The art style in RCT3 allows for better buildings than RCT2
It's okay to take more than two weeks for a collab spot.
RCT2's default scenarios are works of art.

>shitpost capital
That would be /kspg/. At least /gsg/ actually posts some grand strategy games every now and then and talk about politics which pretty much relate to the games. /kspg/ is just people complaining about janitors, snekfag constantly posting pics of his snek, and people talking about wanting to suck their cat's dick.
>RTC
That is the shit that makes some people pissed and we shitpost about RTC things for about 20 minutes.
