I don't think pinball gets enough love. There is a Lord of the Rings pinball at my local Godfather's and it's a pretty good time waster.

Yepp, long ago Gottlieb got the license to make a couple of Mario Pinball tables. Haven't gotten a chance to play any, but if they're anything like Street Fighter II I'm not sure that I would want to.

I wish I could afford a pinball machine. The nice/rare ones are thousands of dollars. I just can't justify such a purchase on something I'd be bored to death with in a month. The appeal of pinball was always playing the different machines for me. Not just a couple.

Pick up a couple of seasons of Pinball Arcade for now and set some money aside for a real one.

I'd still get bored of the real thing pretty quick. If I had kids it would be a whole different matter. I'd snatch one up in a second.

I buy, sell, and trade machines all the time. That's really the only way to do it. Some people do it with cars, I do it with pins.

They're not hard to find, and prices are only starting to go up. I bought a Whirlwind a few years ago for 1500 and I just got an offer on it for 2500. Haven't decided if I'm gonna sell it yet, but if I do, that money will go towards my next pin.

When I was a kid I had a roller rink down the street. They were somewhat rare even then. At least 10 different pinball machines, Air hockey, skeet ball, tons of old vidya cabinets. It shut down when I was in Middle School. They bulldozed the massive aluminum building and turned it into some crappy branch bank with a drive thru. So much wasted space. SMH...

I'd even be happy to have some of that highly finished wood flooring from the rink. One day I'm gonna have a retro vidya room with the wood reclaimed from the flooring in one of the old roller rinks.

Arcade near me has got Medieval Madness, Adams Family, and a ton of newer ones like Walking Dead and Iron Man. Been wanting to get an actual machine and get good at it but they're fucking expensive.

If you want to get into owning, my advice is to start with late 80s games like Earthshaker and Taxi. The bubble hasn't quite affected them as much as the 90s and newer titles, and they're still solid playing games.

>> No.2409898

I haven't even gotten to the best part. The place down the street from me used to have roller derby leagues on the weekend after midnight. Richmond, Va and the area surrounding it used to be magnificent. We had an old drive in off patterson I went to as a kid, a roller rink... and I was born in 83...

I've played the TZ and it stands proudly next to other top tier games like Addams Family, Cirqus Voltaire and Getaway: High Speed 2.

Not a fan of the LED conversions for the general illumination - always preferred the soft glow of bulbs.

Hey guys. So a few months ago I asked you guys about an old-style pirate-themed pinball machine I used to play when I was a kid, but none of you knew what it was. Turns out last week I came across that very same machine, and even though it was unfortunately out of order, I finally managed to know what it's called.
The name is Corsario, a Spanish pinball.

Thanks to everyone that tried to help. I also tried to find a WC theme pinball, it was also from the same company Inder.
