Following the departure of Kojima from Konami, the company has expressed no real further interest in developing games for consoles and will likely just ride it out through the free-to-play mobile market

Given how influential Konami was in so many varied genres in the past as well as the present, I thought it only right to make a thread to honor such a wonderful, but incredibly misguided company

It's the mark of the beast, consult Revelations, it's all foretold there.

The mark of the beast is a combination of letters and symbols that will be physically and permanently placed on your forehead or right hand. Most people will consider it an honor to receive the mark. It will be like a key for them that will open doors of acceptance, prosperity and peace.

The mark of the beast will be placed on people who worship the beast and choose to receive his mark. There will be severe penalties for refusing the mark and great rewards for getting it.

The mark of the beast will be enforced. The people who believe in the beast and worship him will be glad to get his mark.

The beast is not a person or a human organization. The beast is Satan himself. But when Satan comes as the beast he will appear in a glorious body. People will not recognize him as the Devil. He will claim to be God and most people will believe that he is God.

The mark of the beast is an outward, physical symbol, showing that the wearer has chosen to worship the beast and receive him as God.

That should no longer be true. As the whole reason they did not have a lot of that stuff is because they could not import it from the states and importing goods from europe made the price of medical equipment 10x higher than normal. so much for "humanitarianism". now that they're more openly trading with america, the price of medical equipment should drop considerably. as for why they just did not import said goods from mexico or central america, that remains a mystery.

Yuou have to take into consideration a few things though.
Kojima get too easily excited by hollywood, and all kind of superficial shit like that.
Most studios want him to whore his name, we are talking about an industry packed with interests in money, not in creativity.
This means that he could easily choose ubisoft\EA insted of a smaller studios, because doing so he can eat hamburgers with his most loved star N.2347564 from hollywood.

Castlevania went in a direction I didn't like with LoS and LoS2. The GBA/DS ones were all basically the same game, with incredibly lazy copy pasting of enemies from previous games.

Silent Hill was getting stale.

Metal Gear had closure with 4. They tacked on another game just for the sake of it I feel like.

I'm honestly not happy, but not sad either. I hope that in this void thats created we get some new IP's from new players that try and push their creative boundaries. Also, Kojima is so high on himself I'd like to see him actually have to make something really groundbreaking again instead of 3 hours of gameplay, 40 hours of shitty movie.

Yeah, pretty much. I mean it's one of my favorite studios but I can't bring myself to like the course they took. The old franchise lie idle or turned into something I don't really like. Same situation with Capcom.

16bit Konami (and Capcom) were a magical thing for me so I'm not really gleeful to see them turning into a glorified mobile app dev, but I have a hunch they wouldn't make anything I'd like in the future anyway.
