What are some great co-op games for the SNES and Sega MD/Genesis/CD?

So far all I've got is Spider-Man & Venom: Seperation Anxiety

Just to specify, I don't mean multiplayer games. Co-op games, meaning you and a 2nd player work together. I really would like some good co-op platform games

Also, what's the best Bomberman title? Like, is there an essential one that has the best multiplayer Bomberman has to offer?

This was such a stupid era in the Spider-Man timeline. If it wasn't retarded symbiotes it was fucking clones.

I'm gonna have to disagree.
Carnage is the best spider-man villain.

Agreed. He has that goofy, early 90's "edge", but it isn't as tryhard as anything Liefeld was putting out back then. Also, OP I prefer Maximum Carnage to Separation Anxiety.

Turtles in Time is a great beat em up
Gunstar Heroes and Sunset riders (SNES version) are really good shmups for a buddy

Technically SoM and SoM2 are multiplayer, but its kind of flawed.

Maximum Carnage is the better game but sadly no 2p

I realized that after I posted. I've just only recently owned an actual copy of it, and I don't have friends who are into retro games outside of Mario Party and Goldeneye.

for party playing i love the genesis bomberman (94), with the different players you can select.

i make it into a betting/drinking game.

two 'human' players
>one actually plays to win
>other isn't manned, just sits there, i always use the fat guy
one CPU at highest level
one CPU at lowest level

that way there's one actual player playing against a retard cpu and a pro cpu.. then there's the fat ass guy that just sits there.
you can make your own spreads, i always have fat ass pay out the most.

fun times, we end up betting shots of delicious skol vodka

off the top of my head, and probably listed already:
world of illusion
goof troop
toe jam and earl
smash tv
zombies at my neighbor
any schmup
any beat em up

Thread is full of great ideas. Only one I can think of that was missed is Battletech for the Genesis, which was later ported to SNES as Mechwarrior 3050.

The co-op in this game is unique, as one player controls the bottom half of the mech and so chooses the direction of the mech movement; and the other player controls the top half of the mech, managing which way the weapons are facing and the firing of those weapons.

The Saturn version supports the most players in multiplayer. Good fun.
