does this part make anyone else cringe? Like I really like this game but man some of the humor is just horrible. I didn't even like this part when I was a kid just seemed like it was trying way too hard. Great game for the most part otherwise though I liked the dated parody humor more than the poopoo jokes for sure.

>> No.2382429

always seemed like a shitty game. glad I never bought it.

I don't know any good parody games and I'd rather have a game taking itself seriously.

>> No.2382437

It's a stupid game. No need to take it seriously. That's what was great about it when it came out. Had all these serious rpgs in the spotlight then came along Conkers.

the game itself is pretty fun, honestly best multiplayer on the console, so many fun modes war was awesome, heist was awesome, there was one mode were one person was a trex and everyone else was a caveman and you had to try and steal eggs from the trex nest that was a blast. The game does have some fucking shitty humor in it sometimes but it's a lot of fun.

Yeah it was stupid but when I was 12 a giant turd singing opera was pretty funny to me

I didn't really cringe even though I hate poo jokes.

Presentation goes a LONG way, and they really made that entire boss fight incredibly grandiose.

And like >>2382437 says, this was an utterly ridiculous inane game in a sea of OMG SERIOUS EPICs on the market.

I though Conker was painfully unfunny even when I was 11.

Normally I would think this is bad but the effort put into this cutscene saves it.

>> No.2382921

It's British humor, but it's not that bad. Think of it like Happy Tree Friends.

Conker is much more enjoyable for it's platforming anyway.

Britfag here. It isn't British humour, it's unfunny fag at the pub who thinks he's funny but isn't and won't shut up humour. Shame because as a game Conker is great.

toilet humour is never funny, wasnt then, isnt now, it was that south park era and sold on edge,

rare was notorious for the toilet humour, literally, I think it gave them a uniqueness and made it more viral and memorable

what ever happened to that dev playthrough kinda got dropped. shame

Apparently Chris Seavor still has a bunch of video's to release but it takes to long to edit them so he hasnt done it yet. It's a shame though, i think half the humor in the game is better once you understand why they put it in the game.

The entire concept of Conker's Bad Fur Day makes me cringe. As someone who kept up with Nintendo news religiously back in the day, seeing CBFD gives me the same feeling I'd get when I'd run into that nice kid from elementary school who's now a "yo" or a "banger."

Just because a British person attempts humor doesn't make it "British humor." Just like whatever passes for British humor doesn't become "American humor" when an American attempts it. The whole concept of humor nationality is ridiculous anyway.

Great and Mighty Poo is a better toilet joke than Working Designs did at least.

We grew up and it didn't stay funny to us anymore, plain and simple.

>> No.2383440

I love it. The game is ridiculous and silly and takes the childish whimsy and fancy of N64 platformers and takes it to the gross end of the childhood humor spectrum. It is like a perverted 7the graders notebook doodles brought to life.

I like how it contrasts an actual well-made opera performance (possibly the most serious type of music), with crude, childish humour. Plus his entire entrance sequence is gargantuan as well, with all that camera work.

If it was just some random poo blob telling you to eat shit, it wouldn't be funny. Like the dung beetles earlier in the game, or the part where you make the cow drink prune juice that causes its bowels to go on overdrive. Those weren't really funny.

But this boss, he is physically gigantic and drops a powerful opera solo in your face. The entire concept is just so damn absurd that I cannot not like it.

All of you motherfuckers need to lighten up. It was silly bullshit and more than anything I was impressed that an N64 game was treating me to a fully vocalized cutscene/bossfight. The singing wasn't terrible either, which made the premise and lyrics all the more absurd.

I think the only part of the game I didn't like was the caveman section. It was completely forgettable.

I agree, it was a bit of comedy they included to make the game a bit more entertaining than usual. it's sad that people focus more on how they dont like the jokes than all the technical aspects of the game which where quite groundbreaking at the time.
