Ye olde master race gaming. What are some of the games that defined late 90s computer gaming?

Something about this era gaming really gives me the feels. Half-Life, Unreal, Quake Arena, Worms Armageddon, Aliens vs. Predator, Rainbow Six etc. essentially games that were only on PC or at least had the defining version on PC.

I never played too many PC games when I was a kid, mostly stuck to consoles. But I did really enjoy playing my older bro's copy Fallout 1 & 2 when I was a kid.

>Late 90s
>"Defined"

Most of the games posted so far seem to be "personal tastes"

This is an objective list of games that were huge and that I recall playing during that time frame (1995-2000):
>Starcraft (1998)
>Quake 2 (1997)
>Fifa 98 (1997)
>Diablo (1996)

for me it was Baldur's Gate, that game literally ruined gaming for me, since I never looked at PC games the same way again, call it my age at that time, that I hadn't played much d&d games, or whatever... I still play it today.

>Baldur's Gate (1998)

some of my other favorites, yeah I like RPGs

>Fallout 2 (1998)
>Planescape Torment (1999)

I enjoy the physics of Carma as much as the vehicular homicide.

Nigga everybody loves the physics; that's pretty much the point of the game.

You could make a much better video representing the physics!!

Late 90s/early 2000s PC is the best era, no console library reaches the amount and variety of amazing games imo

Lighthouse was great. Puzzles were way harder than Myst's however.
