Okay Jesus Goddamn Christ how do you beat this fucker?

easy modo: shoot lightning in his eye and mash the pause button

otherwise learn his movement pattern and be patient

I will abuse the shit out of this. Fuck this guy. Seriously haven't been this pissed off by a game in years and years.

Yeah I finally got him without cheating (only because the rom I'm using was from a later version that fixed said exploit) but oh man, I got so sick of that stupid stage.

Hmm rest of the game wasn't tooo bad after that. Wily was surprisingly easy. Pretty fun game and the music is awesome. Having started on the 2nd game as a kid and going back to this one is a bit rough though. The fucking sliding thing is bullshit. Every stage is an ice stage.

>> No.2353137

>>2352941
This. Never understood why folks have so much trouble. It's a fairly straight-forward boss, unlike Death in CV1. Now that mother-fucker is a head-ache to fight without cheaping-out and abusing holy water.

>> No.2353146

>>2353137
That game is always fairly smooth sailing for me until I get to Death. And it's hard to hold onto holy water sometimes because of later bull. The cross is not a bad alternative tho, but you'll still feel his wrath.

>> No.2353645

>>2352893
Git gud.
Main thing to remember: you only have to dodge the two bottom rows of blocks flying. The rest sail over your head. I haven't played tis in a few years but that's what, 10 jumps needed per transformation? Add the fact that each one is telegraphed to hell and back- you see it mould before moving. Pay attention, and don't get over excited.

If you had to use the select button trick, then you haven't finished the game. Step up son.

>> No.2353723

Jump over the 1st blob
stand under the second blob, jump over the third blob. I walys count "1, 2" to remember."
stand under the 4th and 5th blob
jump over the 6th blob,(I count to 3)
stand under the 7th and 8th blobs
jump over both the 9th and 10 blobs in one jump by standing close the the devils body and jumping forward
stand under the 11th 12th and 13th blob

Jump over the 14th blob(count to 4)

stand under the 15th 16th and 17th, jump over 19th, stand under 20th.

Then he'll shoot, you shoot back. Rinse and repeat 5 or so times.

>> No.2353852

To be honest I always thought the Mega Man clone was a much more difficult boss if you don't use the exploit.

>> No.2353935

There's a glitch you can exploit, using elecman blast. Hit it one time and keep pausing/resuming, they'll hit every time you resume.

>The fucking sliding thing is bullshit. Every stage is an ice stage.
I don't remember the controls being slippy in the first megaman at all...

>> No.2353980

>>2353947
The controls weren't slippery, but Mega Man himself was, though only barely. Basically a non-issue.
In the first game, when you stopped moving, Mega Man would slide forward just a smidgen. Every game afterwards changed it so you'd stop dead the second you let go of the DPad.

>> No.2354170

>>2353980
I mean, it's obviously not a non-issue for everyone. Myself included. That's great if it wasn't for you but seriously those freaking block sections were a nightmare. Heat man's stage has nothing on that. The little bit of sliding made my life so much harder.

>> No.2354173

>>2353852
OP here. I thought he was a lot easier than the blob actually. I just jump-baited him with the buster and it wasn't too bad that way.

>> No.2354203

Can anyone say how/if Rock controlled differently in each game? I'm not the best at picking up on stuff like that, but I'd be curious to know if his movement and physics changed between games.

>> No.2354231

You can use the same trick to beat robot masters too. Ice Man can easily go down with one shot if you mash that pause button.

It's always surprised me that people can't learn a simple pattern. I mean, I could understand if he didn't shoot his blobs out the same way every time, but you can easily recognise his pattern after two or three rounds with him.

So what does this do exactly? Increase your damage?

>> No.2354469

>>2354462
Causes the elecbeam to hit again each time you unpause, so you get multiple hits on an enemy with one shot.

>> No.2354485

>>2354462

Through a glitch the beam is registered as overlapping with the hurtbox again everytime the game resumes, which is registered as another hit instead of the same one which should not count anymore.

Man, this so much. Yellow devil is a breeze if you just keep calm. When I was a little kid playing this, I was a total spaz. I used to freak out and try to avoid every block like a fool. Eventually I realized it's not really a fight so much as a waiting game.

I still haven't learned how to dodge this guy's shit, it drives me nuts.
I think I could beat him by consistently getting enough damage and using all the E-tanks, (plus one S-tank, probably)
Is any weapon better than normal charged shot?

>> No.2357127

Get the Elecman's weapon (forgot the actual name) and keep hitting SELECT with the projectile on his eye.

I just use the cross and whip in tandem.
Also, he's a pain in the ass to read, but he is readable.
That's not to say Triple Shot doesn't help either.

>> No.2357485

Also, for those noting the elec beam pause trick, I was surprised to find out that it works with pretty much any weapon, even the normal buster shots.
Not nearly as well, granted, but it helps.

Freeze cracker also hurts him the same as a charge shot (1 bar), and can be fired at upward angles when he's high in the air.

Charged Wild coil hits him for two bars of health, but much harder to hit him with that

>> No.2357950

Git gud and DON'T PANIC

You dont even need to learn his pattern you can see which piece is about to move because it changes shape before he leaves his body. What kills people when fighting the yellow devil is panicking and jumping around like a mad faggot.

If it isn't the fact that they move entirely on their own accord and sometimes just refuse to go where you want them to, it's the glitch that will make you fall right through them when landing, gif related!!!!
