Why does no one talk about how amazing river raid is?

-One of the earliest scrolling games
-One of the best games on atari period
-Developed by a woman before it was a talking point

We should be bros.

Nah. I live on the east coast, but I bought if from someone in Washington state.

i got it from a vintage store in west virginia, it was the only video game related thing there

Nice. I live in Florida and the retro scene here is pretty ass, so I get all my jank online.
The Tele-Games was a good deal considering it was ebay, around $30 plus shipping and it came with four controllers, two paddles, and some games.

retro scene here is ass too, except for a new vidya store that just opened up and it has both old and new games. there was even a smash 4 tournament there yesterday, but i lost in round two
i got mine for $50, it came with the system, 4 controllers, 3 games, some manuals and a catalog, and an adapter of sorts

Buy one on eBay, and buy Spider Fighter, and never leave the couch again.

Nearly any 9v ps with the right plug will do so any multi adapter or make one from spare parts.

>> No.2354217

>>2354215
i can't do that kind of thing, i'm not that inclined
besides, i had games for it already, and i didn't know it was without a power cord until i opened it today

Check eBay. Quick look it appears you can buy a 3rd party replacement for under $10 shipped. I can't imagine one is particularly better than any other

I guess this is an Atari thread now. I have an Atari 800XL with floppy drive and a few floppies lying around. Never had any luck getting it to boot anything other than the command line though. Don't have any carts either. Anyone know more about this than I do?

They kept making classic after classic while their older and larger rival (Disney/Atari) floundered.

>> No.2354468

>>2354439
Uh, sorry to break this to you, but all of Pixar's classics were made under the Disney banner.

Activision really was God tier back in the day though.

why do headphones and old ac adapters have similar ends?

>> No.2356109

>>2356101
That's a good question. Why did AC adapters use mini phono plugs? Availability, perhaps?

>> No.2356192

>>2356109
Wires are wires for the most part in short distance electronics, barring any high current applications or high density high frequency wiring that might need specific protection against parasitic capacitance and shit.

Using whatever is convenient and cheap would be useful for people basically throwing shit together with off the shelf prefabbed equipment. Though they might have switched from phono tip style to barrel connectors so they wouldn't get shorted out as easily. It'd be incredibly easy to short the tip putting it against a piece of metal but far more difficult to short the barrel connector as well as so people don't confuse them and plug them into a phono jack. Never underestimate the stupidity of people.
So, aside from aesthetic and usage, there'd really be no electronic benefit to using one over the other.
