Using weaknesses, Gravity man I guess, cause it's tricky to dodge his shots while reversed, you have just enough weapon energy to kill him and have to be precise with timing. With just mega buster - I only finished every first game's boss and up to 2 in every sequel. Elec man seems to be a problem in his level, and totally unbeatable in Willy 2 - and keep in mind his fight is the second boss fight on the level, after which there's mega man clone. I've got no idea on how to beat megaman 1 buster only because of willy 2.
>Favourite Music: every mega man 1 track is a masterpiece, 9th symphony of the 20th age, no less. I cannot narrow it down further than elec man, ice man and guts man.

Hardest robot masters, for me, using buster only are ...

Elec Man- can kill you in a 3 hits and he spams his attack

Shadow Man - his attack pattern is hard to memorize and his quick slides often are hard to avoid

Quick Man - since he jumps fast and high on a battle screen with uneven terrain, it isn't easy to hit him with the p shooter. I think you have to hit him at least 3 times for every 1 time he hits you to beat him.

Charge Man - I can beat him now, but as a kid he was hard to beat with buster only, he charged fast, his projectiles came down at random spots, and he was invincible when he fired the projectiles in the air which would have been one of the best times to get a shot in.

Gemini Man - there was a very narrow window for you to be able to shoot him without getting hit back, I think it was right before he jumped on the right side of the screen.

I am only referencing 1 to 6 right now as I haven't played the other 4 enough to remember them well.

It would be awesome, and The Wily Wars has something sort of like it in that you can pick from the weapons of the first three Mega Man games for a custom load-out, but it's not from a hack. It's just an image I whipped up.
Wasn't even originally a wallpaper. I made pic related then bolted on additional robot masters from MM&B, then later 10 when it came out, adding Proto Man and Bass to the center, and 8bit versions of the 16/32bit era robot masters to make it look nicer. It came out just the right size to make into a 1920x1080 wallpaper, after adding some padding.

Even felix is arguably harder, because when your continues are gone, your arse is fucked and it's like what the fuck. I tried a bit as a kid, a lot as a teenager, and am just now revisiting as an adult through Megaman 5, because I'd always heard 4-6 are a bit easier and the robot masters appealed to me. I don't know, I just feel like I never eve have enough time to think about breaking down patterns and figuring out a strategy before I'm dead as hell.

I'll admit I'm not every good at classic sidescrollers, though. I'm pretty young (22), so even though I experienced a decent amount of NES/SNES/Genesis through friends who were broke and outdated, older family members, etc. I never got extensive playtime in my own home until I started emulating as a teen.

Quick man is only difficult due to the stage, he falls rather easily to the Mega buster. The only other weapons he has a real weakness to are the Crash Bombs and Flash Stopper. Metal Blade will NOT work on him, he literally deflects them.

You just have to conserve your crash bombs until you reach that room, take out as many walls as you can, and when you do it the next life the walls will still be gone. There's a method to do it in one go with some of your gadgets to get around some jumps but you can't fuck up

Here's a hint for 4, 5: Very few of the robot masters actually walk around, most of them jump. If you think to robot master is about to move, your best option is usually to slide towards them, because they'll probably try to jump towards you.

The third one is the longest one by far. The robot masters in the third game reach new heights of interesting, with a lot of concepts that don't get revisited in any other game.

The only real complaint about it is that it's real easy to stock up on E-tanks, making dying trivial, and there are couple of near-useless weapons. Nothing nearly as based as metal blade. Finally, unlike the second game, the robot master weaknesses are wholly arbitrary.
