I really wish Nintendo would revive the GameBoy close to it's original hardware. Like a "GameBoy Super Colour" with the GBC display but four times the resolution, a true 8-bit Z80-like processor that is fully compatible with GB and GBC games, but has extra instructions and a variable clock speed up to 75 MHz. The sound chip could be extended with extra channels, more noise effects, custom wave forms, etc.

And because the modern semiconductor industry is amazing all of this magic could be done in a cheap, small and absolutely low-power chip that runs for endless hours even on two AA batteries. Important for that is the non-backlit LCD display, these need almost no energy. A few LEDs could be installed at the sides, so you can play in the dark as well.

The case obviously needs to be made from nintendium (the ABS plastic the Nokia 3310 is made from as well), with the screen window made from gorilla glass, or whatever they use for modern smartphones. That thing would be indestructible.

Did you flash any cool roms on there besides lsdj? I'm thinking of getting one but I don't know what I would put on there.

I thought I would find plenty of homebrew games for the original Game Boy but to this day my search has remained, alas, fruitless.

I had bubble bobble because only one page can actually have save data and that sidebwas for lsdj. I'm looking to get a bennvenn cartridge check it out. I gotta get some sleep before work so i probably won't respond for a while.

Not anymore, there's a better version of the flasher now. You still can't have GB and GBC ROMs on the same page, but both pages can have saves. I can dig up the link if you want it.
