Hm, okay. Since you posted BT, let's see about "the worst" levels in N64 titles.

SM64: Big Boo's Haunt for the camera, and I'm not a big fan of Lethal Lava Land either. Dire, Dire Docks too but that's water

BK: Clanker's Cavern

BT: Didn't mind Terrydactyland, but had some gripes with Cloudcuckooland.

Paper Mario: Hm, don't even hate Flower Fields like others do, but it's the worst in the game.

Not this guy, but building on his theme.

>OoT
A lot of people say hurr Water Temple durr, but I was actually more underwhelmed by Jabu-Jabu's belly and the Ice Cavern.

>Majora's Mask
Again, didn't mind the Great Bay Temple, but the Pirate Fortress was just a chore.

>Conker's Bad Fur Day
The barn was uninspired and the boiler fight takes too long.

>Goldeneye
Fucking Compound, although the Jungle level has a tendency to drag.

>Kirby 64
Aqua Star didn't really have anything challenging, just slow from water controls, and the boss was a wimp (although harder in boss rush mode).

>Star Fox 64
Sector X was kinda meh but that's still a half-training level, so I'm gonna say Solar. A cool boss fight doesn't excuse a long predictable slog of a level.

>Shadows of the Empire
Again, just because your level has IG-88 as a boss doesn't mean you get to have a shitty design otherwise, train stage.

>>2223897
This was only bad because of how ludicrous those enemies were without Paula's attack magic, and how many of them there were to get through.

If you want both bad/boring design elements AND ludicrous enemies, I submit the sewers beneath Fourside.

>>2223907
This level was significantly easier once you know about the warp trick (if you die on a moving platform in such a way that your body is pushed to the "end" of a screen before the music stops, you warp to the boss for that level). Lets you skip the bullshit climbing section as well as the space rails.

According to Wikipedia:

>Scholastic Corporation bought the U.S. rights at the Bologna Book Fair in April 1997 for US$105,000, an unusually high sum for a children's book. They thought that a child would not want to read a book with the word "philosopher" in the title and, after some discussion, the American edition was published in September 1998 under the title Rowling suggested, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Rowling claimed that she regretted this change and would have fought it if she had been in a stronger position at the time. Philip Nel has pointed out that the change lost the connection with alchemy, and the meaning of some other terms changed in translation, for example from UK English "crumpets" to US English "muffin". While Rowling accepted the change from both UK English "mum" and Seamus Finnigan's Irish variant "mam" to "mom" in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, she vetoed this change in the later books. However Nel considered that Scholastic's translations were considerably more sensitive than most of those imposed on UK English books of the time, and that some other changes could be regarded as useful copyedits. Since the UK editions of early titles in the series were published a few months earlier than the American versions, some American readers became familiar with the British English versions after buying them via the Internet.

Thief: The Dark Project sadly had quite a few bad levels, most of them about raiding some tomb or fighting monsters. The Downwind Thieves Guild stands out as the worst though. I've heard a lot of Thief fans describe it as the worst in the series and I'm tempted to agree. A fucking maze, that level. SM64 had really strange curve in level design, you had great fun levels like, Shifting Sand Land, Bom bomb battlefield, Snowmans Land and Rainbow Ride, Whomps Fortress

Then you had camera hell that was Hazy Maze Cave, Tick Tock Clock, The Boos Mansion

and then you had uncanny valley levels like the Underwater city, Jolly Rogers Bay and Bowsers Sub.

and then there's just empty beta tier levels like Tal Tal Mountain and the big small isle i think it was called, that nobody likes or remembers.

To be honest the only level I remotely enjoyed in BT was Jolly Rogers Bay.

I really don't like any of the other levels, mostly because they were too big for their own good and all the padding with splitting Banjo and Kazooie and running back and forth through huge levels at 5 fps. It was just tedious as fuck.

I didn't like how everything suddenly got grimdark and edgy either, both the "humour" and the colour palette and generally everything presentation wise took a huge nosedive.

Sgt. Byrd's base wasn't so bad, it had those french hummingbirds with the cute voices begging to suck you off every five steps or so. Plus, at least it had some new mechanics, slow and awkward as they were. I remember really enjoying just the ability to free fly as a kid, even if the implementation could have been way better.

Now Bentley, he is a shit. He's basically exactly the same as Spyro, except he can smash metal chests (which is meaningless since they practically replace regular chests in his levels) and he can use an incredibly situational fan thing that is basically used all of like three times in the entire game, in quick succession. All that in exchange for 1/4 the movement speed, what a steal.

The moves in BT were definitely a low point. Outside of grip grab (which was actually very welcome), they were all basically just extentions of old moves, or that split up nonsense. Its like they ran out of ideas.

The backtracking also got a bit much. In the original, all jiggies in a world could be earned before heading for the next (The turbo trainers do make one of the bubblegloop swamp jiggies easier, but its not required). Tooie loved requiring moves from later worlds, and going through passages in earlier worlds to obtain jiggies.
